Lead Frontend Engineer

Key Responsibilities:

• Development of a Single Page Application (SPA) and it's components in Typescript: deployed and optimized for progressive mobile and browsers using Angular 2 and Ionic 2 frameworks.
• Creating custom, general use modules and smart components which extend the elements and modules of core Angular framework.
• Creating self-contained, reusable, and testable modules and components in Typescript and using responsive HTML and CSS.
• Architecting and automating the build process for production, using task runners or scripts.
• Writing non-blocking code, and resorting to advanced techniques such as multi-threading, when needed

Skills and Qualifications:

• Should have experience with CSS 3, SCSS, Java script and HTML5.
• Full-time knowledge of Angular practices and commonly used modules based on extensive work experience. Or 2 Year or more experience with other industry-leading frameworks like React.
• Minimum 1-year experience in working and extending one of the CSS or UI frameworks like Ng-lightening, Angular-material

• Take highly complex information and make it digestible for business users

Eligibility

Having found exceptional product/market fit, we’re in the midst of transitioning from 'start-up' to ‘scale-up’, and looking for frontend engineers in React to help us scale Plum.

You will have a direct impact on the customer experience through the design and implementation of new features and functionalities in our product. You'll work as part of a small but rapidly growing high-energy team delivering incredible, creative improvements to our product. You'll be in charge of reviewing the implementation of applications following code standards and style guides.

• Push things over the line, ship awesome features, and delight customers
• Spec, build, test, and deliver new features while improving the performance and quality of the product.
• Building reusable components and front-end libraries for future use
• Translating designs and wireframes into high quality code Solve complex CSS, HTML, and User Interface compatibility issues across browsers.
• Implement front-end development workflows: build systems, dependency management, quality checkers (linting), etc.

• 5+ years of hands-on experience building web applications with React or similar framework.
• Understanding of chakra is a plus, not mandatory. 
• Comfortable with Responsive Web Development and with a strong product design sensibilities and has an obsessive attention to detail.
• Write testable, maintainable code that's easy to understand.
• Strong proficiency in JavaScript, including DOM manipulation and the JavaScript object model.
• Strong sense of ownership and integrity demonstrated through clear communication and collaboration.
• Having experience with building and maintaining an open source project or design library is a plus.

Job Description

We are looking for a Front-End Web Developer who is motivated to combine the art of design with the art of programming. Responsibilities will include translation of the UI/UX design wireframes to actual code that will produce visual elements of the application. You will work with the UI/UX designer and bridge the gap between graphical design and technical implementation, taking an active role on both sides and defining how the application looks as well as how it works.

• Good understanding of ( Developer should know advanced JavaScript libraries and frameworks, such as AngularJS, KnockoutJS, BackboneJS, ReactJS, DurandalJS, etc.)
• Good understanding of asynchronous request handling, partial page updates, and AJAX
• Basic knowledge of image authoring tools to be able to crop, resize, or perform small adjustments on an image. Familiarity with tools such as Gimp or Photoshop is a plus.
• Proficient understanding of cross-browser compatibility issues and ways to work around them.

Understanding of REST APIs and experience integrating them with a ReactJS front-end

• Master's / Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or Self taught developer.
• 3+ years of experience in fundamentals of web, HTML, CSS and JavaScript.
• Familiarity with JavaScript frameworks such as Vue or React.
• Understanding of product design, user experience and skills to recreate and match high quality pixel perfect designs and can go above and beyond in detailing.
• Has ability to build a ground up resoluble components and in-house UI system that can scale across the product.
