Job Title: Python Developer (Full-time)

We are seeking a Senior Backend Developer with strong expertise in Python-based web frameworks such as Django, Flask, or Starlette. The ideal candidate should have experience in designing and building scalable APIs and services in a high-performance environment. This is a great opportunity to work on backend systems powering critical products at scale.

 Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain robust backend services using Python
• Build and optimize RESTful APIs and microservices
• Architect and implement scalable, secure, and maintainable solutions
• Collaborate with frontend, DevOps, and QA teams to ensure smooth delivery
• Write clean, testable, and efficient code
• Troubleshoot and debug production systems

 Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of experience in backend development using Python
• Strong hands-on knowledge of Django, Flask, or Starlette/FastAPI
• Proven experience in API development and integration
• Experience building scalable and high-performance systems
• Familiarity with async programming (especially for Starlette/FastAPI)
• Good understanding of database design (SQL/NoSQL)
• Knowledge of containerization tools like Docker is a plus
• Strong problem-solving and debugging skills

• As a backend Java developer, you will work within a specific problem space critical to Telstra’s current needs where you will design, develop, and deploy backend services with a focus on scalability, high availability, and low latency.

We are looking for candidates with the following experience and skills:

Essential skills and Experience

• 3 years – 7 years year experience in this area
• Must have strong Java programming background (preferably Java 8+)​
• Preferred Frameworks – Spring Boot​
• Unit Testing, Integration testing and Automated testing. ​
• Experience with Continuous Integration/Deployment​
• Microservices development – HTTP, REST API​ design and implementation​
• Comfortable to operate in an agile, dynamic environment​.

Job Description:

• Strong Experience of Node JS.

• Strong Experience of Reactjs development

• Experience in Server-side application architectures like Express.js, Meteor.Js, etc. is desirable.

• Experience in developing APIs is highly desirable.

• Experience in Mongo or MySQL database is a must.

• Understanding the nature of asynchronous programming and its quirks and workarounds.

• Understanding fundamental design principles behind a scalable application.

• Experience in delivering products using an Agile methodology is highly desirable.

• Experience with automated unit, integration and end-to-end testing is highly desirable.

• Experience in the area of network or systems management is a plus.

• 2+ years experience in a highly technical role at a hyper-growth startup or fast-paced company.
• Extensive background in designing, developing, testing, deploying, maintaining, and improving the software.
• Good understanding of Node.js & Javascript ecosystem.
• Demonstrated ability to translate business goals and initiatives into technical requirements.
• Strong understanding of SQL database.
• Demonstrable experience architecting scalable and cost-effective solutions to ensure and support customer growth.
• Understanding of system design and architecture.
• Interest in engaging with the latest technologies and evaluating strategies to keep the Novo technology stack up to date.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate with both technical and non-technical teams effectively.
