Job Summary
We are seeking a Hardware Engineer to design, develop, and support low-power electronic hardware systems, from concept through production. The role involves schematic design, PCB layout, component selection, and collaboration with firmware and mechanical teams to deliver reliable and manufacturable hardware solutions.
Key Responsibilities
· Design electronic circuits and develop schematics and PCB layouts
· Select components based on performance, power, cost, and availability
· Develop and review battery-operated designs
· Ensure designs meet electrical, thermal, and reliability requirements
· Support hardware bring-up, debugging, and validation
· Prepare BOMs, Gerbers, and manufacturing documentation
· Work closely with firmware, and testing team
· Review and improve designs for DFM/DFA and production readiness
Required Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree in Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field
· Strong understanding of analog and digital electronics
· Experience with PCB design tools (Altium, KiCad, Eagle, or similar)
· Familiarity with microcontrollers and embedded systems
· Ability to read datasheets and apply reference designs
· Basic knowledge of EMI/ESD protection and signal integrity
Preferred Qualifications
· Experience with low-power or battery-operated hardware
· Exposure to IoT devices, sensors, or communication modules
· Experience supporting prototype to production transitions
· Knowledge of manufacturing and testing processes
· Ability to document designs clearly and professionally

Required Skills & Qualifications
- 4–8 years of hands-on experience in embedded systems
- Strong embedded C/C++ skills
- Experience with microprocessors/microcontrollers, SOCs’
- Experience in power supply designs, analog and digital interfaces.
- Experience in schematic design & PCB review
- Strong debugging skills using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and JTAG
- Deep understanding of communication protocols (SPI, I2C, UART, CAN, Bluetooth, WiFi, etc.)
You should be comfortable moving between hardware and firmware without hesitation.
Good to Have (But Not Mandatory)
- FPGA development (Verilog/VHDL)
- Experience with Xilinx/Intel FPGA tools

Experience: Senior Hardware Engineer 4-7 years
Job Location: Pune

Mandatory:
- Responsible for safety electronics hardware product from requirement till validation with certification body
- Design experience on Digital circuits, Analog circuits and microcontroller based design
- Experience/exposure on board bring-up testing, prototype testing and troubleshooting.
- Experience/exposure on Circuit simulation tools such as PSPICE, LTSpice and able to perform reviews
- Knowledge of schematic capture tools like Mentor Graphics DxDesigner and able to perform reviews
- Perform MATHCAD calculation (i.e. in excel or tool) based on hardware design and able to perform reviews
- Contributes to electronics hardware related functionality safety reviews
- Designs multilayer boards and worked on board stack up products
- Planning, Design, Analysis, Compliance / Precompliance Testing and Manufacturing of electronic board(s), product(s) with system understanding.
- Works closely with other engineering disciplines (e.g. mechatronics, internal and external industrial engineering, technical sales towards customer) to ensure quality, to fulfill the requirements and to reach target costs.
- Provides life cycle analysis of electronic components and suggest alternate for replacement
- Creates hardware documentation e.g. BOM, design and test specifications

- Design and implement embedded software applications for IoT devices using C programming language.
- Develop and maintain firmware for Raspberry Pi-based systems, ensuring optimal performance and compatibility with various IoT sensors and peripherals.

- Conduct thorough testing and debugging of embedded software to identify and resolve any issues or bugs.

Job Brief
We are looking for an analytical, results-driven Senior Hardware and Firmware Engineer who can create complex PCB layout while using the least space possible. The designs should allow for easy development and debugging for the firmware engineers while keeping customer requirements, cost constraints and space constraints in mind. Hardware debugging knowledge and soldering skills are essential for this role.
You would also be required to have a keen eye for developing firmware with a low memory footprint and low power consumption while being robust and resistant to errors. You are expected to achieve these goals using your in-depth understanding of the programming language, compilers, microcontroller architectures and debugging tools. You are expected to keep a look out for upcoming advancements in the industry which will help optimize the product.
Main Responsibilities
Your responsibilities will include:
- Would be asked to write efficient, modular and robust firmware which will interface with multiple components like MEMS sensors, battery chargers, secondary microcontrollers etc.
- Writing clean, readable, and modular code
- Would be deeply involved in the schematic design for a product which includes cost-benefit
- analysis of components, component evaluation by designing a proof of concept, suggestions
- in how the components should be connected etc.
- Collaborate with software engineers who would develop companion applications to the
- product
- Creating cost and space optimized layouts for 2/4-layer PCBs
- Collaborating with firmware engineers and supply chain personnel on deciding the
- components to be used on a PCB.
- Collaborate with firmware engineers in designing PCB schematics
- Debugging faulty PCBs using on a hardware level and collaborate with firmware engineers to debug on a firmware level.
- Understanding the manufacturing rules of PCB manufacturers and PCB assembly houses.
Key Requirements
- MSc or PhD in ECE, EEE, EIE or in related fields preferred with a strong technical knowledge and 3-4+ years of experience in designing PCB layouts and developing firmware.
- Ability to transform research articles into the working solutions to solve real-world problems.
- Should have a strong foundation in analog and digital electronics
- Should have designed 4-layer PCBs which has been manufactured
- Familiar with using KiCAD or Altium Designer
- Familiar with using components like MOSFETs, diodes, voltage regulators etc.
- Experience in designing PCBs involving BGA fanouts
- Proficient in using soldering equipment like soldering irons and hot air gun.
- Should have worked with an ARM Cortex M series device like STM32, nRF52 etc
- Familiar with basic data structures like linked lists, queues, trees etc.
- Should be able to compile and link source code with static libraries without using an IDE
- Basic knowledge of microcontrollers peripherals like UART, I2C, SPI, ADC etc.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for effectively communicating with the
- team and ability to presenting information to varied technical and non-technical audience.
Must be able to produce solutions independently in an organized manner and be able to - work in a team when required.
