Engineering Lead

Key Responsibilities

• Strategic Planning: Work closely with senior leadership to develop and implement engineering strategies that support business objectives. Understand broader organization goals and constantly prioritise your own work.
• Technical Excellence: Understand the onground problems, explore and design various possible solutions to conclude and implement scalable, extensible and secure software systems. Implement and learn best practices in technical architecture, coding standards, and software testing to ensure product delivery with highest speed AND quality.
• Project and Program Management: Setting up aggressive as well as realistic timelines with all the stakeholders, ensure the successful delivery of engineering projects as per the defined timelines with best quality standards ensuring budget constraints are met. Use agile methodologies to manage the development process and resolve bottlenecks.
• Cross-functional collaboration: Collaborate with Product Managers, Design, Business, and Operations teams to define project requirements and deliverables. Ensure the smooth integration of engineering efforts across the organization.
• Risk Management: Anticipate and mitigate technical risks and roadblocks. Proactively identify areas of technical debt and drive initiatives to reduce it.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical challenges.
• Strong understanding of software design principles and patterns.
• Hands on with multiple programming languages and modern development frameworks.
• Understanding of Rest APIs and Computer Networks.
• Experience with React, Redux and React Native.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and inspire teams and stakeholders at all levels.

The ideal candidate is a highly resourceful and innovative developer with extensive experience in the layout, design, and coding of websites specifically in PHP format. You must also possess a strong knowledge of web application development using PHP programming language and MySQL Server databases. 

Requirement:

·        3-4 years of experience in web applications/full stack development using PHP, Ajax, Linux, MySQL, Apache

·        Good experience with PHP frameworks CodeIgniter (Laravel, symphony etc. would be a plus)

·        Hands on experience with SQL schema design, REST API design, API integrations

·        Working knowledge of cron jobs

·        Familiarity with modern libraries and frameworks. ie: Bootstrap, jQuery, etc

·        Expertise in developing highly scalable and performant web applications.

·        Proficient in debugging and diagnosing production systems

·        Experience in preparing design specifications/documents.

Good to have:

·        Familiar with Payment Gateways/Wallet integrations is a plus.

·        Experience working with JIRA, Bitbucket, Git, etc.

·        Good written and technical communication skills.

·        Working knowledge of WordPress with plug-in development.

• At least one year experience with PHP or NodeJS.
• Experience with at least one Relational database like MongoDB, MySQL or NoSQL
• Experience with multiple PHP frameworks will be plus(e.g Wordpress, Laravel, Codeigniter,Symfony, cakePHP)
• Proficiency with multiple PHP Frameworks.
• Proficiency designing and building APIs.
• Comfortable in a work environment that requires strong problem-solving skills and independent self-direction coupled with team collaboration and open communication
• Thorough knowledge of Ajax, Javascript, HTML,CSS and other web technologies XHTML and HTML5 coding is desirable.
• Experience in both Linux and Windows environment development. Understanding of RESTful web services.
• Work in a fast-paced, creative atmosphere to develop new ideas that adapt to evolving user needs
• Experience using Git / GitHub. Excellent communication skills

• Advanced site-building experience including deep familiarity with Drupal modules such as CTools, Views, and Panels
• Experience creating custom Drupal modules, SMS integration
• Experience building responsive websites using Drupal CMS, HTML/HTML5, CSS/CSS3, and JavaScript/jQuery
• Knowledge of PHP, PHP files and theme functions, and knowledge of the Drupal theme layer
