Backend Fast API Engineer

Key Responsibilities

Frontend & Extension Development

• Build and maintain highly responsive, modern user interfaces using React.js for web applications, browser extensions, and Electron-based desktop clients.

• Architect and develop modular, reusable UI components using Material-UI (MUI / Joy UI) and styled-components/Emotion.

• Manage complex multi-target build pipelines (Web, Extension, Electron) using Webpack and Craco.

AI Integration & Engineering

• Seamlessly integrate Generative AI capabilities into the frontend, including AI-driven chatbots, contextual AI suggestions, and RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) interfaces.

• Collaborate closely with backend and AI specialists to consume AI-powered REST APIs and WebSocket streams, ensuring fluid and responsive user experiences.

• Implement robust markdown and code rendering (e.g., react-markdown) for rich AI conversational outputs.

Real-Time Data & State Management

• Implement low-latency, real-time communication features using Socket.IO for chat and collaborative functions.

• Efficiently manage complex application state, data fetching, and caching using modern tools like React Query and Axios.

Quality & Collaboration

• Work within a monorepo/workspace structure to maintain distinct client, component, and extension packages.

• Participate in code reviews to maintain high code quality, performance, and enterprise security standards.

• Collaborate with teams using Agile/Scrum methodologies for rapid and structured delivery.

Required Skills:

• Core Languages: Proficiency in JavaScript (ES6+) and TypeScript.

• Frontend Frameworks: Strong, hands-on experience with React.js (Hooks, Context), React Query, and React Router.

• Styling & UI: Deep understanding of HTML5, CSS3, and CSS-in-JS libraries (e.g., styled-components, react-jss). Hands-on experience with MUI (Material UI / Joy UI) is highly preferred.

• Architecture & Build: Experience configuring and optimizing builds with Webpack and Craco. Familiarity with npm workspaces/monorepos.

• Real-time & APIs: Ability to design and implement robust client-side integrations with RESTful APIs and WebSockets (Socket.IO).

• Agile & Workflow: Experience working with Agile and Scrum methodologies.

Preferred/Bonus Skills:

• Experience in building and packaging Browser Extensions and/or Electron applications.

• Genuine curiosity and awareness of Generative AI workflows (e.g., prompt engineering concepts, handling streaming AI responses).

• Experience with rich text editing or markdown rendering in React.

- 4+ years of experience in software engineering, with a proven track record of leading high-performing engineering teams.

- Expertise in full-stack development, with hands-on experience in Python, Node.js, and frameworks like Next.js.

- Extensive experience with cloud platforms, particularly AWS, and familiarity with tools like AWS Lambda, AWS CDK, and containerization technologies.

- Strong background in designing and scaling complex, distributed systems with a focus on performance and security.

- Experience in AI/ML-driven product development is a significant plus.

Core Backend Skills

• Node.js Mastery
• Deep understanding of event loop, async patterns (Promises, async/await).
• Experience with frameworks like Express, NestJS, Fastify.
• Writing scalable APIs (REST), middleware, and modular code.
• Database Expertise
• SQL/Postgres – schema design, complex joins, indexing, query optimization.
• Knowledge of transactions, isolation levels, and migrations.
• Basic familiarity with ORMs (Sequelize/TypeORM/Prisma) and raw queries.
• Architecture & Design
• Ability to design backend systems
• Good understanding of API versioning, caching strategies (Redis).

Frontend (Average Skill Expected)

• Comfortable with React (or Nuxt/Vue) for building and maintaining UIs.
• Basic understanding of state management (Redux, Vuex, Pinia).
• Familiarity with component-based architecture and UI libraries (Material UI, Tailwind).
• Can debug UI issues but not expected to be a design/UX expert.

Other Expectations

• Code Quality – Writing unit tests (Jest/Mocha), code reviews, and maintaining clean architecture.
• Problem-Solving – Strong data structures and algorithmic skills (not as intense as SD3/Architect).
• Collaboration – Able to mentor juniors, break down tasks, and work closely with product and QA.

• Designing and building the website front-end.
• Creating the website architecture.
• Designing and managing the website back-end including database and server integration.
• Generating WordPress themes and plugins.
• Conducting website performance tests.
• Troubleshooting content issues.
• Conducting WordPress training with the client.
• Monitoring the performance of the live website.

Role & Responsibilities

• A Proven work experience as a Ruby on Rails developer with good understanding of Java script, jQuery, HTML, CSS. The individual will need to be hands on with development, performance optimisation, secure development process, usability, and coding standards of the product.
• Strong ROR development experience and follows best practices (test-driven development, continuous integration, SCRUM, refactoring, and code standards).
• Should have a mix of excellent reasoning ability to document, develop and test software with the commitment to excellence and defect free product before being deployed.
• Should be able to work closely with all stakeholders to investigate, fix, optimise, test, and deploy high quality solutions.
• Should have hands on understanding of technical design, implementation, and maintenance of technical initiatives towards improving and scaling of products.
• Self-motivated and should rapidly incorporate new requirements and deliver successfully by self.
• Effectively communicates with peers and stakeholders, gathers and clarify requirements from technical & functional aspect.

• Follows software development process; consistently innovates processes to improve individual and team productivity and quality.

• Experience with Agile development lifecycle with excellent understanding of feature estimation and ability to communicate issues and risks that may impact timelines or resources.

Desired Candidate Profile

• 4+ years of IT experience.
• At least 4 years commercial web development experience.
• At least 3 years of Ruby on Rails commercial development experience.
• Familiarity with Relational and Non Relation Databases ( Postgres, Mysql, MongoDb)
• REST API development.
• Familiarity with In Memory Database ( Redis, Memcache )
• Web development - HTML, HTML5 JavaScript, AJAX, CSS, jQuery, http, REST.
• AGILE/SCRUM development Experience.
• Development practices - Rails test framework / TDD / BDD, Domain Driven Design, SOLID, refactoring, OOP design patterns
• Expertise in version control system ( GIT )
• Candidate need to be comfortable dabbling with some basic infrastructure management on AWS.
• Familiarity with ( React, Vue ) is a plus.
