ABOUT THE ROLE

We are looking for early members of our India team. You will be part of the team that establishes our India product development team. We are looking for candidates who have high potential, are excited about tackling the climate change problem and are excited to grow in a high-growth environment while working with the Singapore HQ.

A junior/mid-level backend software engineer. Must be comfortable to work in a small development team and have the initiative to work alone on smaller problem sets. Must be passionate about climate-tech for a better future.

• Build backend server applications using Flask/DJango framework
• Collaborate with the data team to integrate data pipelines into our backend system.
• Collaborate with the front end team.
• Analyze processes and code to troubleshoot problems and identify areas of improvement.
• Participating in continuing education and training to remain current on best practices, learn new programming languages, and better assist other team members.
• Take lead on projects, as needed.

• Required skills:
• Python Backend Development Frameworks (Flask, Django). Backend development in other languages/frameworks can be considered too
• NoSQL databases (MongoDB)
• SQL databases (MySQL, Postgres, DuckDB)
• Running/managing Linux servers on Cloud services (AWS/GCS/Azure)
• Optional skills:
• Front End Web development (ReactJS)
• Python data science tools (Pandas, Numpy, Scipy)
• Python NLP tools

YOUR PREFERRED BACKGROUND

A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, IT, or related discipline AND 1+ years working experience in the IT industry.

Major Accountability

• Demonstrate expertise in authoring & customizing Drupal modules as well as have experience in working with views, panels and features.
• Carry-out impact analysis & estimation for given set of requirements.
• Develop code by adhering to the Drupal, security and accessibility standards.
• Act as liaison with the client for troubleshooting: investigate, analyze, and solve software problems.
• Work self-directed and independently.

Essential Skills & Experience

• Have overall 4-8 years of IT experience on Drupal 8 platforms.
• Have expertise in developing complex websites based on Drupal 8 platforms and framework-based web applications.
• Have expertise in LAMP environment.
• Have working knowledge of web servers like Apache, Nginx etc.
• Have strong experience with source/version control systems.
• Have excellent communication, analytical & presentation skills.

Education

• Minimum education: B.E., BTech, MCA
• Languages: English written & spoken

Position description:

4+ years of experience in database development.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Understand requirements from front end applications developers
• Write advanced queries, stored procedures, cursors, functions & triggers
• Conduct code reviews
• Work with high-traffic application servers
• Complete understanding of various DB like Postgresql, Mongo DB, MySQL 
• Ability to identify root cause and mitigate issues
• Ability to lead a team of DB developers

Required Skills:

Mandatory: Passionate about sports, Problem solving, Team player, Target & Result oriented, Strong communication skills

Functional: Oracle SQL, PostgreSQL Development - TSQL, Advance Queries, Query Optimization, Stored Procedures, Triggers & Cursors, Database Design, Indexes, Joins, ETL tools like SSAS, SSIS, High Data Volume Processing, DB Backup/Recovery.

• 2+ years of experience on Java, Spring Boot, Hibernate in medium to large-scale projects
• Must have experience with at least some flavours of both SQL (MySQL, Postgres) and NoSQL (Kafka, MongoDB, ElasticSearch, NoSQL distributed cache system, DynamoDB etc), datastores in production
• Must have experience with Kafka or similar message queue systems in production
• Stellar problem solving skills
• Hunger to learn new things and ability to grasp new concepts quickly
• Ability to move quickly without breaking things too much (we are dreamers)
• Ability to work under immense pressure which is balanced by a sense of responsibility and ownership
• Should be able to groom juniors and take them to the next level
