Android Developer Requirements

Position Overview:

As an Android Developer, you will have the exciting opportunity to work on developing, testing, and maintaining Android applications that deliver exceptional user experiences. Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, you will play a key role in transforming ideas into functional and user-friendly applications that meet the needs of our customers.

Key Responsibilities:

● Participate in the entire application development lifecycle, from concept and design to testing and deployment.

● Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code following coding standards and best practices.

● Continuously research and stay up-to-date with the latest Android development trends, tools, and technologies.

● Assist in maintaining code repositories and version control using tools like Git.

● Collaborate with UI/UX designers to ensure seamless integration of design elements and optimal user experience.

Qualifications:

●     Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).

●     Strong passion for mobile app development and a genuine interest in the Android platform.

●     Solid understanding of Java and/or Kotlin programming languages.

●     Basic knowledge of Android application architecture and components (Activities, Fragments, Services, etc.).

●     Familiarity with development tools and frameworks such as Android Studio and Gradle.

●     Adept problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically.

●     Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.

●     Prior experience with personal or academic Android projects is a plus.

●     Knowledge of UI/UX principles and design patterns is a bonus.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Design and build applications for the iOS platform
• Implement new features while maintaining overall quality of software
• Contribute to a culture of learning by documenting and sharing technical knowledge as a developer on an agile squad
• Participate in developer communities of practice by following best practices, participating in code reviews, and sharing knowledge
• Remain current on relevant technology trends
• Participate in researching and resolving customer issues
• Other duties as assigned

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

• Proficient in native development with Swift and Objective-C
• Experience building interface components and experiences using Swift UI and WebKit and understanding their limitations
• Knowledge and experience working with the MVVM design pattern
• Prior experience with knowledge of Git and GitHub
• Knowledge of iOS back-end services
• Knowledge of Apple’s design principles and application interface guideline
• Understanding of the full software development lifecycle
• Familiarity with security best practices for software development

Passionate about building flexible and scalable solutions with an eye for detail and can weigh pros and cons to find best possible solutions. 

Role and Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Product Managers to plan, implement and deliver tasks and modules on a timely basis with best practices and adherence to SOPs.
• Understand the product requirements, ask questions, and gather information and feedback to design and deliver features both on Android and iOS.
• Create a roadmap of tasks to be delivered for both iOS and Android applications in sync, such that new features go to the end-user at same time. 
• Lead the design of Android and iOS applications in a modular fashion with reusable components.
• Proactively identify issues related to memory consumption, battery drain and multi-threading in the application by planning regular tests and analysis.
• Deliver Android and iOS applications with integration to backend services deployed on the cloud with high quality and responsiveness. 
• Create strong practices around test driven development, automating delivery of apps to the marketplace with strong CI/CD practices.
• Manage a highly skilled and efficient team by hiring, keeping the team motivated, and managing performance.
• Play the role of an unblocker in a tight scrum environment. Should be able to help other developers with challenges, problem solving, and help achieve milestones as per plan.
• Prioritize to manage ad-hoc requests in parallel with ongoing projects.
• Hands on with programming with 50%+ of bandwidth going into modules owned.

Skills/Experience

• A highly talented developer with 10+ years of hands-on experience in building apps that have been released to the Play Store(Android) and Appstore(iOS). 
• Demonstrated experience managing teams of 5-10 or more engineers in mobile application teams.
• Strong knowledge of Android, Kotlin, iOS, Swift, Objective C and working with MVVM, MVP, MVC patterns.
• Experience building mobile applications which lean heavily on connecting to cloud services to gather data and stream videos/content. 
• Working knowledge of Xamarin or Flutter (cross platform frameworks) is highly preferred. 
• Practitioner of test driven development practices. Experience in creating and adhering to best practices for development.

Responsibility:

• Building user friendly Android and iOS Apps on React Native platform.
• Designing state-less components in React Native. State management with any of Redux, mobX or Flux.
• Writing modular, reusable, maintainable, well documented and fully tested code.
• Converting designs to mobile applications.
• Integrating with Rest APIs, while collaborating with Backend deve.
• Take complete ownership of the apps and change various elements/ technologies as per business need.
• Ensure optimum speed, performance, quality and responsiveness of application

• 3+ years of experience in native android app development.
• Strong programming experience in Core Java, Android SDK
• Experience working with Kotlin is a plus
• Experience working with Media player
• Experience working with offline app & content security, Encryption and Decryption  
• Experience working with FCM 
• Experience with web services integration, REST API framework, social media and other third party integrations
• Write good quality code, unit tests, automation and performing code reviews.
• Should have Experience of Social Integration.
• Ready to take complete ownership of multiple products, work alone on project if required  
• Good knowledge in Android services/Framework layer and its debugging
• Experience with version control systems, preferably Git.
• Shipped multiple Android Applications that are currently available in the Google Play Store
• Good knowledge of data structures, algorithms and time/space complexity analysis.

• Good problem solving abilities.

• Ability to communicate well with Product and Engineering Team

• Experience with a start-up would be added advantage.

About the role: One key differentiator of FabHotels brand for our asset partners is bestin-class returns. While our online & offline demand teams drive higher occupancies for our partners, this role entails ownership of developing and work on react native side of application development.

Key responsibilities:

• Knows how to embed React-Native in a native (iOS/Android) component and vice versa.
• Firm grasp on JS/CSS fundamentals
• Build pixel-perfect, battery smooth UIs ((layouts, animations, etc.))across both mobile platforms
• Good understanding of Design and Architecture Patterns
• Strong focus on app performance
• Familiarity with native build tools, like XCode, Grade (Android Studio, IntelliJ)
• Good in debugging
• Experience in iOS app development is preferable.
