About the Role :

Senior Android Team Lead will be responsible for testing, QC, debugging support for various Android and Java software/servers for products developed or procured by the company. The role includes debugging integration issues, handling on-field deployment challenges, and suggesting improvements or structured solutions. The candidate will also be responsible for scaling the architecture. You will work closely with other team members including Web Developers, Software Developers, Application Engineers, and Product Managers to test and deploy existing products. You will act as a Team Lead to coordinate and organize team efforts toward successful completion or demo of applications. This includes implementing projects from conception to deployment.

Responsibilities :

● Working with the Android SDK, Java, Kotlin, NDK

● Handling different Android versions and screen sizes

● Applying Android UI design principles, patterns, and best practices

Requirements :

● Strong technical background in Android application development and Kotlin

● Solid programming skills

● Detail-oriented with strong attention to specifics

● Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Background :

● B.S. / M.S. in Computer Science, Electrical, or Electronics Engineering

● 5+ years’ experience with Android, Java Server, JSP

● Experience with Virtual Reality and Augmented Reality

● Familiarity with Test-Driven Development

● Background in CS or ECE

● Python experience is a big plus

● iOS development knowledge (not mandatory)

● Strong foundation in data structures and algorithms

Must Have :

5. Experience working with remote data via REST and JSON.
6. Strong experience with third-party libraries and APIs.
7. Solid understanding of the mobile app landscape, architectures, trends, and emerging technologies.
8. Clear understanding of the full mobile development life cycle.

Preferred Skills:

1. Familiarity with Android UI/UX design principles and best practices.
2. Knowledge of Kotlin in addition to Java.
3. Experience with cloud message APIs and push notifications.
4. Understanding of version control systems (e.g., Git).
5. Problem-solving mindset with the ability to think critically about edge cases and scalability.

Job Description:

1. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field, or equivalent training, fellowship, or work experience
2. 2+ years of practical experience in Native Android Development
3. 2+ years of experience using Kotlin/Java
4. Experience developing highly performant code and view layouts and the ability to diagnose performance bottlenecks
5. Designing applications with latest frameworks and architecture such as MVVM, etc.
6. An excellent understanding of best practices for concurrency and threading is a big plus
7. A disciplined approach to development, testing, documentation and code structure in a team environment
8. A constant desire to improve, learn more and take things higher
9. Having worked with the Realm database and dagger is a big plus
