Android Developer

This is a full-time for a React Native Developer. The React Native Developer will be responsible for designing and implementing front-end and back-end app development, developing software solutions, and working with JavaScript and Redux.js . The React Native Developer will also be responsible for testing and debugging applications and must be able to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to deliver quality products.

Qualifications

Expertise in Front-End Development and Back-End Web Development

Strong software development skills + String Design skills

Proficiency in JavaScript and Redux.js

Experience in building and testing React Native mobile applications

Knowledge of cross-platform mobile development frameworks

Ability to write clear, maintainable, and efficient code

Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field

Experience with Agile development methodologies is a plus.

Excellent communication and collaboration skills

• Create games in Unity for iOS and Android.
• Write super-clean, testable, and well-documented code in C#
• Collaborate effectively with a small, high-energy team of illustrators, designers, and programmers.
• Work with other developers to devise customized solutions to difficult problems.

We’re looking for a Senior Android developer who will take a key role in our team. You will be working alongside other engineers and developers, collaborating on the various layers of the infrastructure.

Responsibilities:

• Design and build advanced application features for the Android platform.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features.
• Work with outside data sources and APIs.
• Unit-test code for robustness, including edge cases, usability, and general reliability.
• Resolving/ fixing bugs and improving application performance.
• Continuously discover, evaluate, and implement new technologies to maximize development efficiency.

Requirements:

• Proven software development experience and Android skills development.
• Proven working experience in Android app development and Kotlin.
• Have published at least one original Android app.
• Experience with Android SDK.
• Experiece with Flutter Development
• Experience working with remote data via REST and JSON.
• Experience with third-party libraries and APIs.
• Working knowledge of the general mobile landscape, architecture, threading, offline data storage, trends, and emerging technologies.
• Solid understanding of the full mobile development life cycle.

The Role

We are looking for an experienced Software Engineer (React Native) who will lead the development for Jackett's mobile apps. Each day you'll design, build and ship features that will directly improve teachers' lives. You will shape our product direction and technical architecture for the years to come.

You'll report directly to the CTO and partner closely with teams across product and design to build React Native apps for Android and iOS from scratch. And we'll work together to create an environment where you can grow professionally. 

Key Responsibilities:

• Own the architecture, development and implementation of our mobile app to enable the team to quickly iterate a high-quality product.
• Implement clean, modern, smooth animations and transitions that provide an excellent user experience.
• Implement pixel perfect Ul's that match the designs.
• Create our iOS and Android deployment CI/CD pipeline to ship reliable features daily.
• Engage in technical research and champion best practices for writing clean, maintainable and reusable code with clear documentation.
• Accurately estimate time and effort required to deliver high quality features.
  Required Skills/Abilities:
• 4 + years of experience as a software engineer.
• Built and shipped high-quality mobile apps (android and iOS) using React Native.
• Production-level experience with Mobile C l / C D , unit testing and automated E2E testing
• Proficiency working with RESTful APIs.  
• Ability to take extreme ownership of your work and to deal with high pressure situations in a fast paced environment and meet targets without compromising the quality of the deliverables.
• Product understanding to break down user stories into high impact features.
• Excellent organisational and communication skills, especially for a remote first work environment   

Extra Credits for:

• Knowledge of AWS cloud infrastructure - CodePipeline, Amplify, CDN etc.
• Knowledge of TypeScript.
• Knowledge of SCORM and Learning Tools Interoperability (LTI) framework
• Experience of React Native development at an early stage EdTech startup

1. Minimum product development experience of 1+ years with expertise in designing and implementing high-performance mobile applications
2. Well-versed in Java, Kotlin, JavaScript, XML, and JSON.
3. Thorough knowledge of Android APIs and platform capabilities
4. Working knowledge of the mobile landscape, architectures, trends, and emerging technologies.
5. Have published one or more apps in the Play Store
6. Complete knowledge of app testing & releasing
7. Familiarity with popular android libraries/methods like OkHTTP, Retrofit
