SPI Aviation Support Services, founded in October 2023, has evolved into a leading AI-driven aviation solutions provider. Starting as a back-office support entity, we transformed into a Capability Centre, to optimizing global aviation Engine MRO operations.
About the Role
We are looking for an Innovation Lead who can turn ideas into real prototypes, guide a small technical team, and drive AI/ML solutions that push the boundaries. You’ll work across computer vision, deep learning, automation, and experimental R&D projects.
Responsibilities
• Lead and mentor a small team of ML/Computer Vision engineers
• Design and develop end-to-end AI/ML solutions
• Build prototypes using Python, OpenCV, TensorFlow/PyTorch
• Work on image processing, object detection, OCR, and real-time CV systems
• Convert business problems into technical approaches and experiments
• Review code, guide architecture decisions, and ensure high-quality delivery
• Stay updated on emerging AI/ML research and bring new ideas to execution
• Collaborate with product and engineering teams to deploy models
Must-Have Skills
• Strong experience in Computer Vision, Deep Learning, OpenCV, TensorFlow/PyTorch
• Hands-on experience with CNNs, object detection models (YOLO, SSD, Faster R-CNN)
• 3–6 years of applied ML/AI experience
• Proven experience as a team lead / mentor
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
• Ability to prototype quickly and iterate fast
Good-to-Have Skills
• Experience with MLOps or model deployment
• Exposure to robotics, automation, or innovation/R&D projects
• Research papers, patents, or hackathon achievements
• Experience in GPU optimization or real-time inference
