Role Overview :

We are looking for an experienced Engineering Manager to lead and scale our backend engineering team. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in fast-paced, high-growth environments and has a strong technical background in Node.js, microservices, and distributed systems. You’ll be responsible for driving technical excellence, mentoring engineers, and delivering backend systems that serve millions of users reliably and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities :

• Lead and mentor a high-performing backend engineering team
• Architect and implement scalable, high-performance backend systems using Node.js
• Build and maintain robust microservices-based architectures
• Design and manage event-driven systems using Kafka
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other stakeholders to deliver impactful features
• Ensure backend systems meet high standards of reliability, performance, and scalability
• Drive technical decision-making and set best practices in software design and engineering
• Partner with DevOps and cloud infrastructure teams to streamline deployment and monitoring

Requirements :

• 6–8 years of backend development experience, with at least 2–3 years in a technical leadership or management role
• Strong expertise in Node.js and backend development principles
• Deep knowledge of microservices architecture and experience with Kafka or similar messaging systems
• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms like AWS, GCP, or Azure
• Proficiency in containerization and orchestration tools like Docker and Kubernetes
• Proven leadership and mentoring abilities; strong communication and collaboration skills
• A mindset geared toward system reliability, performance tuning, and scalability
