The Indian Revenue Service is the nation's revenue service that administers the Income Tax Act, Benami Properties Act, and Black Money Act enacted by the Lok Sabha. In fiscal year 2017, the IRS collected ₹9.95 lakh crore and processed more than 6.84 crore returns. The IRS Vision is to partner in the nation building process through progressive tax policy, efficient and effective administration, and improved voluntary compliance. IRS officers execute this vision through key positions for policy formulation, administration, and enforcement in the Government of India and Multilateral Organizations.
