About the Company :

Express Stores is an omnichannel startup (online and offline) by IIT Delhi, BITS Pilani grads. It is a platform for grocery stores to find trusted business solutions including supply, inventory management, and customer relationship management tools. We aim to build a chain of 7/11 stores for India. Express Stores will be the go-to self enable a platform for millions of Kirana stores in India to empower them with more business and to empower millions of customers to find the right products, in a location nearest to their home with the best quality products, at affordable prices.

The founders Apoorv Jain & Kartik Gupta has worked at UrbanClap, Jabong, Flyrobe, Wadi.com in India, Dubai, and South East Asian Markets. We are a young, passionate team working on a tough but huge opportunity in India. We believe there is immense value (akin to serendipity) in giving customers the same value of Supermarkets in their neighborhood stores by making them larger, better, cleaner, and cheaper. Job Description :

1. Strong development and fundamental knowledge of React Native with more than 5 years of hands on exp. in React Native

2. Good hands on experience of Android and iOS Application development

3. Should be well verse with Mobile Application Architecture

4. Should have good understanding of Software Design and implementation

5. Good Command on Javascript Coding and ES6 Standards

6. React Native Life-cycle

Roles and responsibilities

First 2 months
You will be expected to setup and integrate basic tools which will allow the internal teams to function. Examples of projects would be
-Execution of WMS, POS systems and any required integrations
-Setup basic data warehousing / reporting servers to promote data democracy internally.


Post 2 months
You will now be working on creating new tools / Apps which will give our business compounding benefits over time. These could range from B2B, B2C, B2B2C apps, internal enterprise tools. This phase will lay the true foundation of the company’s future tech capabilities.


Required Skillset

Below is an example set of technology skills we expect the candidate to have hands-on experience with. Knowledge of Python is mandatory:


Back-End
• Server-side languages like Python
• Database technologies like MongoDB and Relational Database (MYSQL,
POSTGRES, SQL Server etc.).
• Microservices framework
• Aws services-EC2, SES, S3, SNS
• Additional technologies (Scrapy, Celery)


Mobile Application
• React native
• ES6- java script
• Hybrid app development in (Android/IOS) Preferred (React-Native)


Front-End
• HTML/CSS

• PWA (Progressive Web Application Development)

-Design and build the next gen user-centric PaaS application for Retail.
-Collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyze,define,design,code and ship new features.
-Ensure agile test-driven development for robustness,usability,reliability,security and performance.
-Work on fixing bugs by addressing the root cause and improving application performance.
-Continuously discover,evaluate, and implement new technologies/tools to maximise development efficiency and productivity.
-Hands-on individual contributor, reporting to the Head of Technology.

Requirements

-Experience in Cross-platform mobile app development using Flutter/React Native. Prior experience developing with Flutter is a plus.
-Experience developing with Dart, whether with Flutter and/or for the web, is required. Additionally, deep experience contributing to and managing high-scale production mobile apps is desired. Expertise in Android development is preferred.
-Minimum of 2-3 years full-time mobile development experience (Android). Strong system design and architecture skills - specifically for android. Curiosity to tinker around, explore new paradigms and strong zest for continuous improvement.
-Optimizing app performance and memory consumption. E2E App development and/or experience of developing SDKs is good to have.
-Bonus Points - Experience with Java.
-Experience launching and managing Production mobile apps on Android.
-Experience authoring, testing, and deploying code mission-critical applications.
-Debugging Android apps using simulators and related tooling. Developing and releasing complex, data-driven map based apps using Native as the primary application framework. Persisting data for offline-first apps using flutter -Developing reusable UI Components or libraries.
-Networking and integrating third-party APIs using Flutter. Experience developing integrations with common APIs (e.g., Firebase, Twitter, Instagram, Stripe, Youtube, Google etc.)
-Knowledge of Data Structure and Algorithms.
-Knowledge of OOPs principles.
-Understanding of Relational/NoSQL Databases
-Experience with Git
-Mindset to take up project individually.
-Experience working in an agile development process.
-Writing clear, maintainable and testable code.

We’re hiring our first Full Stack developer who will play a key role in defining the foundation of our product stack. We are looking for rockstars who not only code but can understand the products they are developing and how they impact all the stakeholders.

We see our developers as product designers so a full-stack experience and motivation is necessary.
