SCOPE OF WORK

 

  1. Lead design efforts in developing new product related to defence. Follow all Product Development Phases required to bring concepts into production with supervision from Manager. Prepare presentation material for design reviews and customer meetings. 
  2. Guide and direct activities of the multifunctional team(s) according to priorities set by Engineering management.
  3. Evaluate customer requirements to develop technical assumptions and requirements that provide an outline for project scope, planning and quoting activities. Create Design FMEA, execute risk-mitigating actions from DFMEA, and update DFMEA accordingly. Responsible for design/product validation plan and report. Supports cross-functional feasibility reviews of new products.
  4. Confirm product design intent. Perform stack studies and other analyses required from DFMEA to reduce and eliminate failure modes from designs before tool release. Check manufacturing drawings for completeness and accuracy. Perform engineering tests and submit products for screening and qualification testing in the reliability lab.
  5. Coordinate new product development, debug and release. Follow all product development steps, and supply tooling groups with necessary drawings for quoting and tool build. Assist and support manufacturing in the debug process. Responsible for follow-up, documentation, publishing and expediting all action items of a new product program.
  6. Prepare and follow engineering change requests (ECR) per document control procedures. Support other engineers in department by checking drawings and providing mark-up for corrections.
  7. Produce suitable manufacturing drawings and employ accepted GD&T methodology.
  8. Interface with internal departments (manufacturing, quality, lab, sales and marketing) to ensure design objectives are met in a timely manner and assist by providing product information, engineering samples and technical advice. Also interface with suppliers and customers.
  9. Support product with continuous improvement and support resolution of customer issues.
  10. Support to Process Design and Quality activities if required.
