Job Summary 

Oracle Health is seeking a Software Developer 4 with deep expertise in Java, distributed systems, and microservices to design and build highly available, secure, and scalable healthcare platforms. In this senior individual contributor role, you will drive architecture and design, lead complex technical initiatives, and mentor engineers while leveraging AI-assisted development tools to accelerate delivery and improve code quality. You will partner closely with product, architecture, and operations teams to deliver mission-critical solutions for healthcare providers worldwide.

Responsibilities 

• Own end-to-end design and development of complex backend services using Java and modern frameworks for Oracle Health products.
• Define and evolve microservices-based, distributed architectures with strong focus on scalability, resiliency, performance, and observability.
• Design and implement RESTful and event-driven interfaces, data processing pipelines, and integration patterns for large-scale healthcare workloads.
• Champion the use of AI-assisted development tools (code generation, refactoring, test creation, static analysis) to improve developer productivity and engineering quality.
• Provide technical leadership across feature teams: drive design reviews, code reviews, and architectural decisions.
• Mentor and guide junior and mid-level engineers, fostering best practices in coding, testing, automation, and DevOps.
• Collaborate with product managers, architects, QA, SRE/DevOps, and cross-functional stakeholders to plan, estimate, and deliver complex releases.
• Diagnose and resolve production issues related to performance, scalability, reliability, and data integrity; lead root cause analysis and long-term fixes.
• Ensure solutions adhere to security, privacy, compliance, and regulatory requirements applicable to healthcare.
• Contribute to and help standardize shared libraries, frameworks, and platform capabilities across teams.

Required Qualifications 

• 8–12 years of professional software development experience, with a strong backend and distributed systems focus.
• Expert-level proficiency in Java (Java 8+), including OOP, concurrency, data structures, algorithms, and performance tuning.
• Proven experience designing and building large-scale distributed systems and microservices in production.
• Strong hands-on experience with Spring / Spring Boot or equivalent enterprise Java frameworks.
• Deep understanding of RESTful API design, contract management, and backward compatibility in microservices ecosystems.
• Solid experience with relational databases (e.g., Oracle, PostgreSQL, MySQL), schema design, and ORM technologies.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, Git-based workflows, and automated testing in an Agile environment.
• Practical, regular use of AI-assisted development tools (e.g., advanced code completion, code generation, test suggestion, static analysis) as part of daily development workflows.
• Strong problem-solving skills, with demonstrated ownership of complex modules or systems from design through production support.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with experience influencing technical decisions across teams.

Preferred Qualifications 

• In-depth knowledge of distributed systems concepts (consistency models, fault tolerance, resiliency patterns, caching, load balancing, and observability).
• Experience with event-driven architectures and messaging platforms such as Kafka or RabbitMQ.
• Hands-on experience with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes) in cloud environments.
• Experience with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) or other major cloud providers (AWS/Azure/GCP).
• Familiarity with monitoring, logging, and tracing tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, OpenTelemetry, etc.).
• Background in healthcare, clinical systems, financial, or other regulated domains.
• Experience driving technical roadmaps, modernization initiatives, or platform migrations.
• Exposure to applying AI/ML to software engineering workflows (intelligent code search, anomaly detection in services, test optimization, or quality analytics).

Requirements 

•  7–12 years of experience in backend or platform engineering 
•  Strong computer science fundamentals (preferably from IIT, BITS, NITs) 
•  Strong proficiency in backend development (Node.js, Java, Go, or equivalent) 
•  Proven experience scaling systems through high-growth startup phases (1→10 or beyond) 
•  Track record of building and owning critical platforms or systems from scratch 
•  Exposure to high-volume transactional systems; fintech or lending is a strong plus

Role Overview :

Were looking for a hands-on engineering lead to own the delivery of our GenAI-centric product from the backend up to the UI while integrating visual AI pipelines built by ML engineers. Youll be both a builder and a leader : writing clean Java and TypeScript/Node.js, scaling AWS-based systems, mentoring engineers, and making architectural decisions that stand the test of scale. Ideally, youre also familiar with Python for deploying ML pipelines.
