Software Development Engineer II - Java/J2EE

Job Role:

As a senior R&D Java Engineer, you will work in a highly collaborative, dynamic environment. Your work will impact a lot to make world bit safer place. You’ll design creative solutions to problems faced by companies due to cyber attacks. You will work closely with other partners such as product and pre-sales managers, UI developers, and other software engineers to develop new product offerings and improve the efficiency of the solution.

Responsibilities:

• Develop, modify, and implement, the software components of Nimesa Product.
• Assist QA Engineers with the creation and review of the test cases
• Write junits and test automation if anything required to have the coverage
• Assist other Engineers with the creation of detailed software design specifications.
• Keep an eye out for technology trends, and open-source projects that can be used.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer science or relevant fields.
• At least 3+ years experience in end-end software development for large design and coordinating project teams in the SaaS industry.
• Software development experience with Java and Spring / Springboot, RabbitMQ, MYSQL etc
• Must have worked on fairly complex products from scratch
• Strong knowledge of data structure, multithreading and other comp science concepts (SQL or NoSQL)
• Excellent social and communication skills
• Demonstrated expertise in building Web Applications, Enterprise Applications, Web Services, and Management at scale is a requirement.
• Experience with Design patterns
• Knowledge of cloud-based architectures, deployment and operational aspects of Amazon Web Services cloud

Required Skills:

• 2+ years experience developing software using PaaS/APIs, Java, Docker, Bash, Json, Node js, sql / postgres, RestAPI, Swagger.
• Java 8 / Tomcat 8.5 / Jersey REST
• Spring MVC/Spring Boot/Microservices
• Hibernate
• Strong desire to learn
• Knowledge of cutting-edge technologies.
• Basic understanding of design patterns
• Comfortable working with Subversion, Git, or similar source control environments
• Must be willing to do Test Driven Development.
• Strong communication skills, must embrace working in a highly-collaborative environment

Preferred Skills:

• Good understanding of web-service technologies, Restful APIs
• Some exposure to a version control system such as Git or Subversion
• Proven understanding of software development techniques, concepts and processes
• Driven and self-motivated.

Required background, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• 5.5+/ 7+ Years of experience in a scalable product/ecommerce organization·       
• Excellent Java skills, Understanding of Spring framework & MVC approach
• Strong knowledge of Performance optimization and caching techniques.
• Strong Object Oriented Programming concepts, data structure and algorithms
• Experience in developing scalable, fault-tolerant, distributed backend services
• Experience with prevalent design patterns and advanced system designing
• Good experiences with databases and Schema design. We heavily use NoSQL databases
• Strong Problem Solving skills

Responsibilities: 

• Develop backend systems for our first product
• Build reliable, secure and performant backend systems
• Drive test coverage and continuous delivery automation within the team
• Mentor and provide feedback to teammates

Requirements:

• 5+ years of software development experience
• Strong computer science fundamentals
• Deep and wide knowledge of Java ecosystem
• Can write code that is readable, maintainable, secure and performant
• Know the importance of tests and how to approach writing different types of tests
• Good intuition for REST API design
• Deep understanding of relational databases, transactions, entity-relationship modeling
• Comfortable writing highly concurrent systems
• Experienced in using profilers, tuning garbage collection, optimizing SQL queries

Bonus:

• Understanding of domain-driven design concepts like ubiquitous language, bounded contexts, aggregates and domain events
• Know how to use test driven development as a design tool
• Good intuition for the principles underlying object-orientation, particularly encapsulation
• Understand the importance of immutability and of reducing the state-space of objects
• Know how to refactor large codebases safely
• Seek to identify key underlying ideas and use those as building blocks before reaching for shiny new tools
