About the Role :

We are seeking a highly skilled Backend Engineer with expertise in Java, Spark, and microservices architecture to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in object-oriented programming, experience with Spark Streaming, and a deep understanding of distributed systems and cloud technologies.

Key Responsibilities :

• Design, develop, and maintain highly scalable microservices and optimized RESTful APIs using Spring Boot and Java 8+.
• Implement and optimize Spark Streaming applications for real-time data processing.
• Utilize advanced Java 8 features, including:
• Functional interfaces & Lambda expressions
• Streams and Parallel Streams
• Completable Futures & Concurrency API improvements
• Enhanced Collections APIs
• Work with relational (SQL) and NoSQL (Cosmos DB) databases, ensuring efficient data modeling and retrieval.
• Develop and manage CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitHub, and related automation tools.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Product, Business, and Automation, to deliver end-to-end product features.
• Ensure adherence to Agile Scrum practices and participate in code reviews to maintain high-quality standards.
• Deploy and manage applications in Azure Cloud environments.

Minimum Qualifications:

• BS/MS in Computer Science or a related field.
• 4+ Years of experience developing backend applications with Spring Boot and Java 8+.
• 3+ Years of hands-on experience with Git for version control.
• Strong understanding of software design patterns and distributed computing principles.
• Experience with Maven for building and deploying artifacts.
• Proven ability to work in Agile Scrum environments with a collaborative team mindset.
• Prior experience with Azure Cloud Technologies.

• Take on complex problems that span multiple components and teams.

• Independently own one or more multiple modules, which include: requirement analysis, design, development, maintenance & support

• Write extensive, efficient code to address complex modules that handle the interaction between multiple components.

Requirements:

• Experience: 3+ years

About the Role 

As a result of our rapid growth, we are looking for a Java Backend Engineer to join our existing Cloud Engineering team and take the lead in the design and development of several key initiatives of our existing Miko3 product line as well as our new product development initiatives. 

Responsibilities 

•  Designing, developing and maintaining core system features, services and engines
• Collaborating with a cross functional team of the backend, Mobile application, AI, signal processing, robotics Engineers, Design, Content, and Linguistic Team to realize the requirements of conversational social robotics platform which includes investigate design approaches, prototype new technology, and evaluate technical feasibility
• Ensure the developed backend infrastructure is optimized for scale and responsiveness 
• Ensure best practices in design, development, security, monitoring, logging, and DevOps adhere to the execution of the project. 
• Introducing new ideas, products, features by keeping track of the latest developments and industry trends 
• Operating in an Agile/Scrum environment to deliver high quality software against aggressive schedules

Requirements 

• Proficiency in distributed application development lifecycle (concepts of authentication/authorization, security, session management, load balancing, API gateway), programming techniques and tools (application of tested, proven development paradigms)  
• Proficiency in working on Linux based Operating system. 
• Working Knowledge of container orchestration platform like Kubernetes
• Proficiency in at least one server-side programming language like Java. Additional languages like Python and PHP are a plus

Primary Duties

• Build a broad knowledge across various systems and processes via knowledge transfer and capture any missing information on the wiki

• Gather software requirements by talking to various stakeholders and document them

• Implement software solutions after discussing the requirements and taking direction from the Technical lead and talking to other colleagues within and outside the team

• Provide necessary effort and time estimates for tasks to aid scheduling and prioritization

• Provide necessary 3rd line support to the Operations teams including software fixes as needed

• Work on any BAU development activity including on-boarding new data sets and delivering new markets into the system

• Work with external vendors from time to time to gather necessary requirements for new data or changes to existing data specifications
