Senior Mobile app Developer

Job Description:

We are looking for a skilled React Native Developer to design, develop, and maintain high-performance cross-platform mobile applications for Android and iOS.

The ideal candidate must have strong command over React Native, TypeScript/JavaScript, and working knowledge of Kotlin (Android) or Swift (iOS) to build and integrate native modules when needed.

You will work closely with backend, design, and product teams to deliver seamless, fast, and stable mobile experiences for the ZestFindz ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain cross-platform mobile applications using React Native.
• Collaborate with design and product teams to deliver pixel-perfect, responsive UIs.
• Integrate REST APIs / GraphQL and handle authentication, caching, and error states efficiently.
• Implement and manage app state using Redux / Context API / Zustand.
• Optimize app performance, handle animations, memory leaks, and rendering issues.
• Manage offline storage using SQLite / AsyncStorage / MMKV.
• Configure and manage Firebase services - Auth, Firestore, Push Notifications, Analytics.
• Handle deep linking, in-app navigation, and app lifecycle events.
• Deploy apps to Google Play Store and Apple App Store (with signing, provisioning, versioning).
• Work with DevOps to integrate apps into CI/CD pipelines (Fastlane / GitHub Actions / Codemagic).
• Write clean, modular, reusable code with proper documentation and testing.
• Debug, profile, and optimize performance for low-end devices and weak networks.
• Ensure security best practices - secure token storage, environment management, and data encryption.

Must-Have Skills:

• Strong experience in React Native (0.70+) and TypeScript.
• Solid understanding of mobile architecture patterns (MVC, MVVM, Flux).
• Experience with React Navigation, Redux / Context API / Zustand, and API integration (Axios / Fetch).
• Familiarity with Firebase, App Permissions, and Push Notifications (FCM/APNS).
• Good understanding of Android Studio, Xcode, Gradle, and Cocoapods.
• Ability to write clean, testable code with unit and integration tests.
• Working experience with Git / GitHub / GitLab CI/CD.
• Problem-solving mindset and ability to debug across full mobile stack.

Good-to-Have Skills (Bonus):

• Knowledge of native SDK integrations (Maps, Camera, Payments, etc.).
• Experience with React Query / GraphQL.
• Familiarity with Fastlane, Crashlytics, App Center, or Sentry.
• Understanding of UX principles and animation libraries (Lottie, Reanimated).
• Experience with OTA updates (CodePush) and App Store Optimization (ASO).

You will:

• Develop production-ready code to meet scope of requirements.
• With guidance, update and create documentation as needed for new and existing solutions.
• Participate in code-reviews with comments to improve code quality, stability, and maintainability.
• Create and maintain unit and integration testing solutions. Be able to run your code in lower environments.
• Run tests on the mobile device to ensure code meets requirements
• Watch mobile releases for Android or iOS for features you developed
• Teardown your solutions across multiple environments and platforms.
•  Provide operational support of your deployed code
• Determine issues within your areas of expertise.
• Work with teams across the engineering organization to understand and incorporate client requirements into final solutions.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

You have:

• Bachelor’s degree (4 years) in Computer Science or a related field, OR 5+ years of relevant software development experience.
• 3+ years of professional experience in software engineering.
• 2+ years of hands-on Android application development using Kotlin and Android Studio.
• Experience with modern Android libraries and frameworks, including Jetpack components (e.g., Navigation, Room, ViewModel, LiveData), Retrofit for networking, and image loading libraries (e.g., Glide, Coil).
• Proficiency with asynchronous programming using Kotlin Coroutines and Flow.
• Familiarity with dependency injection frameworks such as Dagger/Hilt or Koin.
• Experience with app architecture patterns such as MVVM or MVI, and clean architecture principles.
• 2+ years of experience working in Agile teams and participating in iterative development cycles.
• Strong understanding of object-oriented design principles, design patterns, best practices, performance optimization, and memory management.
• Experience with unit and UI testing frameworks (JUnit, Mockito, Espresso).
• Familiarity with Git and collaborative version control workflows.
• Exposure to CI/CD tools and automated build/deployment pipelines.
• Ability to independently take ownership of tasks and deliver robust solutions.
• Commitment to writing clean, maintainable, and well-documented code.

Would be great if you have:

• Experience with React Native, including building function components, using hooks, and working with JavaScript/TypeScript.
• Knowledge of Play Store processes, including app signing, publishing, and release management.
• Familiarity with ingesting and exposing large datasets in the weather industry.
• Experience in the advertising industry.
• Proficiency with tools like GitHub, Jenkins, Artifactory.

• Relevant experience in building a mobile application using React Native.
• Your primary focus will be on developing user interface components for mobile and implementing them following well-known React workflows. (such as Flux or Redux)
• You will ensure that these components and the overall application are robust and easy to maintain. 
• You will be coordinating with the rest of the team working on different layers of the infrastructure. 
• Should have published at least 2 live hybrid mobile applications. 
• Good understanding of Android / iOS / Web design guidelines, SDK and excellent JavaScript skills. 
• Expertise in RESTful APIs development. 
• Expertise with code testing best practices, including unit and integration testing to ensure a quality of code. 
• Familiarity with code versioning tools such as Git, TFS and Agile/SCRUM Development methodologies
