Senior Developer

Job Description :

• We are seeking 2 experienced Senior Developers with a strong background in Java and Python, along with expertise in market risk or counterparty credit risk.
• These roles will play a crucial part in designing, building, and optimizing our risk systems, ensuring our technology supports accurate, real-time risk management and compliance.

Responsibilities :

System Design & Development :

• Design, develop, and enhance high-performance risk management applications using Java and Python.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to architect robust, scalable systems that handle large datasets for market and credit risk analysis.
• Implement complex algorithms and workflows to process, analyze, and report risk exposure across multiple portfolios.

Risk Systems & Data Management :

• Develop tools for efficient data processing, validation, and storage of market and counterparty credit risk data.
• Work with Quant teams to implement models for stress testing, scenario analysis, VaR (Value at Risk), and other risk metrics.
• Ensure data accuracy and consistency across various sources, enhancing data pipelines and integrations.

Required Skills & Qualifications :

Technical Proficiency:

Languages : Proficiency in Java and Python, with hands-on experience in designing and developing risk or trading applications.

Experience :

• 10+ Years of experience in software development, with a proven track record in Java and Python.
• Significant experience in financial services, specifically within risk management or related fields.
• Prior experience in building risk models, risk reporting frameworks, or risk data warehousing systems.

• Work closely with product managers and engineers to design, implement, test and continually improve scalable frontend and backend services.
• Develop products using agile methods and tools.
• Develop commercial grade software that is user friendly and suitable for a global audience.
• Plan, create and execute (manual and automated) tests.
• Be involved and participate in the overall application lifecycle.
• Building reusable code and libraries for future use.
• Staying up to date with current technologies and providing insights on cutting edge software approaches, architectures, and vendors.

• Fluency in any one of JavaScript, TypeScript or Python.
• Strong problem solving skills. 
• Should have built large scalable enterprise applications from scratch.
• Strong experience in architectural patterns, High level designs.
• Experience in Nosql and SQL DBs.

Key Aspects of Role :

• Leverage deep knowledge of the full technology stack to help achieve business objectives and customer outcomes
• Collaborate with Product Management to validate the technical feasibility of and establish non-functional requirements
• Collaborate with Architecture to evolve architecture to solve technical challenges, support future requirements, scale effectively, continually meet/exceed SLAs and resolve tech debt
• Technical advisor to internal or external stakeholders on complex technical components
• Technical leader working with the team to help remove blockers and act as a tie breaker
• Adjust the team processes, listening to feedback and guiding the team through change and driving continuous improvement

Required Skills:

• B.Tech/MS/PhD in Computer Science or related field, and 3 - 10 years relevant industry experience
• Coding experience in Java
• Extensive hands-on experience working with AWS cloud products and services
• Experience with popular open-source software such as Postgres, RabbitMQ, Elasticsearch, Redis and Couchbase
• Experience working with NodeJS, React/Redux, Docker Swarm, Kubernetes
• Experience with development frameworks such as the Spring/Spring Boot framework, Hibernate and knowledge of advanced SQL
• Proficiency with modern object-oriented languages/frameworks, Terraform, Kubernetes, AWS, Data Streaming
• Knowledge of containers and container orchestration platforms, preferably Kubernetes
• Experience delivering services using distributed architectures: Microservices, SOA, RESTful APIs and data integration architectures
