Job Summary

We are seeking a Lead Software Engineer with strong hands-on expertise in Java and Python to design, build, and optimize scalable backend applications and APIs. The ideal candidate will bring deep experience in cloud technologies, large-scale data processing, and leading the design of high-performance, reliable backend systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain backend services and APIs using Java and Python
• Build and optimize Java-based APIs for large-scale data processing
• Ensure high performance, scalability, and reliability of backend systems
• Architect and manage backend services on cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure)
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver production-ready solutions
• Lead technical design discussions and guide best practices

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in backend software development
• Strong proficiency in Java and Python
• Proven experience building scalable APIs and data-driven applications
• Hands-on experience with cloud services and distributed systems
• Solid understanding of databases, microservices, and API performance optimization

Nice to Have

• Experience with Spring Boot, Flask, or FastAPI
• Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines

What you will do?

Project Management

• Work with the product management team to create an engineering roadmap that aligns with the product roadmap. 
• Translate engineering roadmap into executable internal projects, and own the end-to-end execution of these projects.
• Plan, execute and deliver projects as per schedule, content, and quality metrics.
• Manage the day-to-day activities of the engineering team using Agile practices.
• Keep stakeholders continually updated on the progress of projects and operations.
• Track and report engineering health metrics (such as bugs by severity, production incidents etc.)

People Management

•  Hire and mentor a team of engineers
•  Manage learning and development, and performance of your team.
•  Own, Conceptualize and Build a tech-focused team

Technical Work

•  Core stakeholder to all technical design and architecture of team.
•  Review code, test plans, and deployment plans.
•  Focus and Strengthen all aspects of reliability

About the role:

We are looking for a Node.js Developer responsible for managing the interchange of data between the server and the client. Your primary focus will be the development of all server-side logic, definition, and maintenance of the central database, and ensuring high performance and responsiveness to requests from the client end. You will also be responsible for integrating the front-end elements built by your co-workers into the application. Therefore, a basic understanding of front-end technologies is necessary as well.

What You Need for this Position:

• Strong understanding of JavaScript, its quirks and workarounds.
• Basic understanding of TypeScript & its quirks and workarounds.
• Advanced knowledge of NPM and the most frequently used libraries (E.g: Socket.io, Underscore.js, Passport, etc.).
• Knowledge of any Node.JS ORM (Mongoose, Sequlize, Knex, etc.).
• Understanding of any of the following Node.JS frameworks: Express JS, Koa Js, Hapi JS or any other.
• Good understanding of OOP and data structures.
• JavaScript unit testing frameworks (prefer Unit.js, Mocha).
• Ability to write complex algorithms.
• Understanding of code versioning tools, such as {GIT / Mercurial / SVN}.

• Develop and provide solutions on JavaScript frameworks
• Develop high-traffic, flawless web applications using Node.JS
• Participate in code and design reviews to ensure consistency in architecture and design/code practice
• Code with performance, scalability, and usability in mind
• Work on new tools in leading industry trends, with new and emerging technologies, prototypes and engineering process improvements
• Work closely with next-generation architecture development teams using cutting edge approaches and technologies
