The key aspects of this role:

·    Design, build, and maintain scalable applications using Ruby

·    Contribute to the entire implementation process including driving the definition of improvements based on business needs

·    Act as a subject matter expert for Application Software developers and Engineers

·    Handle server-side code for a production platform and contribute to new features.

To be the right fit, you'll need:

·    Must have ROR as primary skill with good experience in server side scripting

·    Must have used Ruby as scripting language & Rails as framework

·    Good understanding & hands on experience on any frameworks in ruby : Watir, Capybera, Faraday

·    Rest Web API development (Server & Client) experience will be an added advantage.

·    Understanding of HTML/CSS/Angular JS will again an added advantage 

·    Good knowledge in DevOPS tools

·    Experience to work in agile scrum model projects

Role Overview:

We are seeking a motivated and talented Ruby on Rails Developer with React experience to join our dynamic remote team. You will work on our core platform, contributing to both backend (Ruby on Rails) and frontend (React) development. As a part of a small but highly skilled team, you’ll have the opportunity to learn, take ownership of features, and make a real impact.

Responsibilities:

• Develop, enhance, and maintain features on the GeoSnapshot platform using Ruby on Rails.
• Build responsive and interactive front-end components using React.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product managers, designers, and other developers, to deliver high-quality solutions.
• Write clean, maintainable, and scalable code, adhering to best practices.
• Debug, troubleshoot, and optimize performance issues across the stack.
• Work independently while staying aligned with team goals and timelines.
• Learn and adapt to new technologies and frameworks as needed.

Requirements:

• 2+ years of professional experience with Ruby on Rails and React.
• Strong understanding of RESTful APIs and how to integrate them with front-end applications.
• Proficient in relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL or MySQL) and ORM frameworks.
• Familiarity with modern JavaScript (ES6+), CSS3, and HTML5.
• Experience with version control systems like Git.
• Comfortable working in a remote setup and communicating effectively in a distributed team.
• Self-motivated and eager to learn new tools and technologies.

Preferred Skills (Nice-to-Have):

• Experience with cloud platforms like AWS or similar.
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines.
• Familiarity with Agile development methodologies.
• Understanding of photo management systems or e-commerce platforms.

Required Skills:

Ruby on Rails Developer Responsibilities:

• Designing and developing new web applications.

Ruby on Rails Developer Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, or related field.
• Experience working with ruby on rails as well as libraries like Resque and RSpec.
• Ability to write clean ruby code.
• Proficiency with code versioning tools including Git, Github, SVN, and Mercurial.
• Experience with AngularJS or BackboneJS.
• Familiarity with MVC, Mocking, RESTful, and ORM.
• Good understanding of front-end technologies including HTML5, JavaScript, and CSS3.
• Knowledge of server-side templating languages including Slim and Liquid.
• Familiarity with testing tools.

• Minimum 1-year experience is mandatory
• Proven Software Development Skills in Laravel Framework and Core PHP
• Good knowledge and experience in OOPS concepts and Core PHP
• Good Database designing skills in MySQL
• Experience in known APIs like Google, Facebook, etc.
• Knowledge of JavaScript, JQuery, JASON, AngularJS will help
• Passion for Software Development and Coding
