Product Designer - Job Description
As a Product designer at myYogaTeacher, you will have a chance to define how our students and teachers use our platform. You will have an opportunity to create an empathetic product experience via pragmatic storytelling, detailed flow mapping, interactive prototyping and product testing to create designs that are polished and easy to use.
You will be communicating, ideating and pitching frequently in front of your peers across product, business, tech and growth marketing. You will work closely with management, product managers, marketing, operations and development team to create engaging and user-centric experiences. We expect you to work with our design system to bring in fresh approaches, insights, frameworks and to be great at conveying what’s best for the user to interact with a seamless product.
Your responsibilities include defining product specifications, creating digital assets and designing fully functional products. To be successful in this role, you should have an eye for detail, understand UI and UX needs of our users and be able to translate requirements into practical product features.
Ultimately, you will help us build products that are easy to use and visually appealing to our students and teachers.
What would you be doing?
- You will work in a world class design team to own and drive product design and set the experience bar for our students and teachers
- You will be mapping requirements by continuous interaction with product managers
- You will be upholding the voice of the end-user and defending design choices
- You will create quick sketches, comprehensive wireframes, rich visuals, and interactive prototypes to deliver finished design deliverables
- You will maintain and enrich our user experience across both web and native app platforms by continuous benchmarking and iterations (even post-launch)
- You will translate quantitative and qualitative behavioural data and competitive analysis into design solutions
- You will offer multiple solutions to problems and make tradeoff recommendations
- You will drive design quality, usability and accessibility standards
- You will collaborate across teams to improve, maintain and optimise our interaction and visual design systems
What is your background?
- 2+ years of professional experience with design and development of highly interactive products and digital interfaces such as websites, mobile web, and native apps.
- Sound proficiency in user-centred design processes and interaction design principles
- Excellent knowledge of web standards, native mobile design systems (iOS and Android), progressive improvements, dynamic content retrieval, and responsive/adaptive design techniques
- You have a portfolio that details strong interaction, thought process and visual design skills
- Deep understanding of typography, layout and composition, information architecture, colour theory, fluid grid systems, animation and transitions
- A tendency to think between the layers and drive your goals via motion rich interactions
- An ability to create detailed interconnected design flows while being able to imagine movement and co-relation between different components to create user delight
- Deep understanding of Figma and other design tools

Deliverables:
UX Engineer will be responsible for on-time and quality delivery of all deliverables for the product. Depending on requirements, as a product engineer, she/he will be responsible for delivering all or some of the following.
- Conducting and executing research processes, Usability Audits under the guidance of Lead UX Engineer
