
Manhattan Active Transportation Management (MATM) Consultant
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement and configure Manhattan Active TMS solutions to support transportation planning, execution, and optimization.
- Collaborate with business and IT stakeholders to define transportation requirements and translate them into system configurations.
- Design and test transportation workflows, routing logic, rate management, and carrier communication.
- Support system integration with WMS, OMS, and third-party logistics systems using APIs and microservices.
- Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve functional and technical issues related to MATM.
- Assist in upgrades, patching, and ongoing system enhancements within the Manhattan Active cloud environment.
- Support end-user training, documentation, and change management activities.
- Monitor system performance and suggest continuous improvements in processes and configurations.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Minimum 4 years of experience with Manhattan Active Transportation Management (or Manhattan TMS with recent transition to Active).
- Proven knowledge of cloud-native TMS architecture, microservices, and REST APIs.
- Strong understanding of transportation operations across TL, LTL, parcel, and intermodal.
- Experience with transportation optimization, rating engines, and carrier selection.
- Hands-on experience with workflow configuration in Manhattan Active TMS.
- Familiarity with JIRA and SaaS environments.
- Ability to translate business needs into functional specifications and configuration logic.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience integrating MATM with other Manhattan Active modules (e.g., WMS, OMS).
- Familiarity with JSON, Postman, API calls, and cloud integration tools.
- Knowledge of EDI messages (204, 214, 990, 210) and TMS-related data formats.
- Previous experience in a high-volume retail, 3PL, or manufacturing environment
