About the Role:

Deqode is looking for a skilled and motivated Java Developer to join our high-performing engineering team in Jaipur. You will be responsible for developing scalable backend systems using cutting-edge Java technologies and contributing to all stages of the software development lifecycle.

This is an on-site role, open only to candidates currently in Jaipur or willing to relocate immediately.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop robust backend services using Java, Spring Boot, and Microservices.
• Build and maintain RESTful APIs.
• Implement Netflix OSS/Spring Cloud patterns for distributed systems.
• Integrate with messaging systems like Kafka for event-driven architecture.
• Write JUnit test cases and maintain code coverage up to agreed standards.
• Work in a CI/CD environment and contribute to automated build and deployment pipelines.
• Collaborate with DevOps teams for containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Work with AWS services for integration and deployment purposes.

Good to Have:

• Experience in creating and managing Docker images.
• Understanding of Kubernetes for orchestration.
• Familiarity with AWS Cloud services from a developer's integration perspective.

Desired Profiles:
Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field
2 to 5 years’ experience required
You have prior experience in Java development
Required hands-on experience of Java Application Frameworks (Struts, Spring, Hibernate, Spring boot)
Hands-on experience working in an Agile environment

Primary Duties

• Build a broad knowledge across various systems and processes via knowledge transfer and capture any missing information on the wiki

• Gather software requirements by talking to various stakeholders and document them

• Implement software solutions after discussing the requirements and taking direction from the Technical lead and talking to other colleagues within and outside the team

• Provide necessary effort and time estimates for tasks to aid scheduling and prioritization

• Provide necessary 3rd line support to the Operations teams including software fixes as needed

• Work on any BAU development activity including on-boarding new data sets and delivering new markets into the system

• Work with external vendors from time to time to gather necessary requirements for new data or changes to existing data specifications

• Maintain pro-active communication with relevant stakeholders and keep them updated on progress

Experience, Knowledge & Skills

Essential

• 4+ years’ experience of programming in Java.
• 4+ years’ experience working with SQL including complex queries, stored procedures, views, database design and solid understanding of database concepts (preferably SQL Server)
• Experience of both Linux and Windows environments, scripting and tools
• Willing to carry out operational data tasks alongside developing new solutions
• Well organised with the ability to prioritise and manage multiple streams of work
• Excellent communication skills

Educational & Professional Qualifications

• Educated to degree (or equivalent) level or higher.

• Experience in designing and developing web-based applications using Java, J2EE, Web Services, MVC framework, Servlets Spring, Hibernate, Struts, REST, MYSQL.
• Experience in Database application programming for MySQL server using
  Stored Procedures, Triggers, Views etc.
• Experienced in implementing presentation layer using JSP, HTML, CSS, Ajax, JQuery. Java script.
• Experienced in Analysis, Design, Development, Integration, Deployment
  and Maintenance of Web services, Client Server and Web based applications.
• Well versed with Agile development process, Scrum.
• Good knowledge in version control system tools like GIT.

• B.Tech/B.E (preferably in Computer Science Engineering) 
• 7+ years of hands-on programming experience in building data-driven REST APIs, services & platforms using advanced Java frameworks like Spring, Redis, Node.js etc. with deep focus on integration & scale.
• We also look for hands-on experience with Mysql, Elasticsearch (or Solr) and Nosql stores.
• Our evaluation starts with focus on computer science fundamentals, data structures & algorithms.
• You will have been learning new technologies every week and prefer folks who can use golang/rust for backend development and are familiar with equivalent data stores, index stores and pub-sub technologies.

• 5+ years of software development experience including 4+ years of deep, hands on experience in building highly scalable web-based backend applications using Java and Spring ecosystem
• BE/BTech in Computer Science or a related field or equivalent practical experience
• Great problem-solving skills with solid data structures and algorithms knowledge
• Has extensively used the Spring ecosystem – Spring Boot, REST API Development, ORM tools like Hibernate
• Excellent knowledge of Relational Databases, SQL and ORM technologies (JPA2, Hibernate)
• Profound insight of Java and JEE internals (Class loading, Multi-Threading, Memory Management, Transaction management etc)
• Experience of coaching and mentoring junior developers with good delegation and time-management skills
• Implemented CI/CD in any of the projects done
• Strong understanding of Agile and Lean software development processes and practices
• Excellent knowledge and hands-on experience of Elastic Search
• Has designed relational databases; conversant with SQL
• Knowledge of Jenkins/ Docker and Devops
• Knowledge of Redis or similar technology
