Java Developer Engineer

Responsibilities:

• Develop and deploy services to improve the availability, ease of use/management, and visibility of 6sense systems
• Architecting, building, and scaling out our services and infrastructure
• Learning and adopting technologies that may aide in solving our challenges
• Own our systems like our Hadoop and Presto clusters, front/back-end services, build configurations, infrastructure components, deployment of services into our infrastructure, and everything in between
• Write/review/debug production code, develop documentation and capacity plans, and debug live production problems
• Contributing back to open-source projects if we need to add or patch functionality
• Support the overall Software Engineering team to resolve any issues they encounter

Minimum Qualifications:

• 5+ years in a Software Engineering role or equivalent experience
• 1+ years of experience with Linux/Unix system administration and networking fundamentals
• Strong skills in reading code as well as writing clean, maintainable, and scalable code
• Good knowledge of Python and Java
• Experience designing, building, and maintaining scalable services and/or service-oriented architecture
• Experience with high-availability

Bonus Requirements:

• Experience with modern configuration management tools (e.g. Ansible, Chef, Puppet) and idempotency
• Exposure to modern build systems such as Bazel, Buck, or Pants
• Knowledge of the Hadoop ecosystem (e.g. Hadoop, Hive, Presto) including deployment, scaling,
• and maintenance
• Knowledge of standard security practices
• 1+ years of experience working with Kubernetes, Docker
• Good knowledge of Javascript 

• A hands-on application developer who is passionate about Java development, building highly scalable and resilient applications, and focused on solving complex business problems
• He/She will have responsibility for unit-level design, coding, unit testing, integration testing, and participating in the full SDLC
• He/She will be expected to produce high-quality code that can pass critical peer review, and to work under a high-pressure and timeline-driven environment.
• Actively participate in development along with team members in creating modules & systems that can be treated as a working reflection of the best practices

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science or Engineering equivalent
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in Java development
• Responsible, organized and possess critical thinking with good interpersonal and communication skills
• Able to demonstrate good analytical problem-solving abilities and strong leadership aptitude
• Able to work at both abstract and detailed level
• Must be fluent in English, and strong communication skills.
• Motivated self-starter that likes to work as part of a team

Technical Requirements

• Strong experience in Core Java 8 and above, Collections and Data structures.
• Develop solutions using core java, Spring / Spring Boot, JSON, Rest API and other web technologies
• Hands on with UI development with strong experience in HTML5, JavaScript, CSS3, Responsive UIs. Added advantage for exposure to Angular. Knowledge on Liferay will be added advantage. Ability to design and develop UIs and end to end integration.
• Object oriented analysis and design using common design patterns
• Excellent knowledge of Relational Databases, SQL and ORM technologies (Hibernate and Mybatis)
• Strong knowledge of test-driven development and continuous integration
• Preference towards candidates having excellent Java multi-threading skills
• Passion for collaboration and working on agile teams
• Develop and Consume Web Services using REST.
• Enforcing and Writing code following good standards (well documented with good code coverage and properly tested code)

• Lead a full product development lifecycle from ideation, design, development, to roll out and support
• Own the delivery of multiple features of the product end to end while hands-on in development as well
• Advocate best development practices such as continuous integration/continuous delivery, automation (testing and infrastructure)

1. 7+ Years’ of experience, managing teams of 5+ people
2. Must have excellent programming, debugging and scripting skills with a solid understanding of Object Oriented Design principles.
3. Proficiency in at least two of the following: Java, NodeJS, Go, JavaScript, Python programming stacks, and passion for software engineering and craftsman-like coding prowess
4. Knowledge of software practices like refactoring, clean code, domain driven design, Encapsulation etc
5. Hands on experience managing databases like MongoDB, Cassandra, Redis.
6. Exposure to event driven systems and event streaming engines like Kafka
7. Good knowledge of DevOps tooling like docker, kubernetes, ansible/chef, AWS.
