At Shopflo, we're trying to change the way consumers experience brands and businesses. Our first product was a cart and checkout platform for e-commerce, that allowed marketers to personalise discounts, rewards, and payments. We are currently also working on a new product that takes it a notch higher by unlocking enterprise-grade personalization for all consumer tech businesses.

Team & Company

Shopflo was founded by three co-founders:

• Ankit Bansal (ex-IIT Kharagpur, Oracle, Gupshup)
• Ishan Rakshit (ex-IIT Bombay, Parthenon, Elevation Capital)
• Priy Ranjan (ex-IIT Madras, McKinsey, Elevation Capital)

We’re a fast-growing team of ~50 people, based in HSR Layout, Bengaluru. We raised a $3.8M seed round from Tiger Global, TQ Ventures.

What you will do:

• Own and build next generation web applications which are efficient, reusable front-end abstractions and systems
• Developing highly responsive user interface components using react concepts
• As part of an innovative, fast-paced team, you will actively participate in design and code reviews to build robust applications and prototypes
• Ensure that all the assigned systems are performing to scale
• Work closely with co-founders, product managers, and backend engineers to decompose UI/UX flow into actionable tasks and ensure timely features delivery

You should apply if you have:

• 1- 2.5 years of work experience working as a ReactJS developer
• In-depth knowledge of JavaScript, CSS, HTML, and knowledge in any one of the react based frameworks like Next, Gatsby is a plus
• Understanding of browser internals and the network stack
• Basic awareness of application security practices and deployment techniques for frontend projects
• Basic knowledge of testing frameworks including Mocha and Jest is a plus
• Fluency in using Git and GitHub
• Ability to write concise and structured code

Good to haves:

• Experience with React Native
• UI/UX design sense
• CSS frameworks like Tailwind, Bulma, and CSS Preprocessors
• Understanding of SSR, SSG, CSR

We are looking for a creative, skilled UI developer to design web apps with functionality and aesthetics in mind. The UI developer will work with back-end developers and front-end developers to ensure that the applications are optimized for several devices and presented attractively. To be successful as a UI developer you should have excellent knowledge of HTML, JavaScript, and CSS. In addition to this, you must work well in a team as there are several individuals involved in the development process.

• Work with other developers to ensure that the web apps are functional and visually appealing.
• Liaise with the client to gauge their needs and expectations.
• Plan the layout of the applications.
• Ensure that the applications are optimized for various devices.

• Proficiency in HTML, JavaScript, jQuery, and CSS.
• Knowledge of Adobe Illustrator.
• Good interpersonal skills.
• Understanding of key design principles.
• Good problem-solving skills.

Experience: 3.5 - 5 years

Description :

- Very good experience in design and development on UI front end Technologies.

- Minimum 3+ Years of web application development using HTML 5, CSS3, Bootstrap, JavaScript.

- Experience in development of Angular 2/4/6.

- Expertise in Responsive web design, HTML5, and CSS pre-processors SASS and LESS

- Good in UML, OOPS, design principles and patterns, architectural trends and data modeling.

- Strong in JavaScript (object oriented concepts) & JavaScript optimization

- Experience on JavaScript frameworks such as AngularJS, ReactJS, NodeJS etc.

- Ability to convert Wireframes in to UI design

- Good designing capabilities using Bootstrap framework, SEO and using strategies for cross-platform design initiatives with a 360-degree digital design

- Strong experience with debugging skills and fixing Cross Browser Compatibility issues and Optimization for web by using best practices

- Good Communication

- Good knowledge of quality standards and best practice

• Meeting with the design team to discuss the needs of the company.
• Building and configuring Magento 1x and 2x eCommerce websites.
• Coding of the Magento templates.
• Developing Magento modules in PHP using best practices.
• Designing themes and interfaces.

• Troubleshooting integration issues.
• Updating website features and security patches.

Desired Candidate profile

● Architect and build scalable front-end web solutions using JavaScript, React, HTML, CSS and other fundamental web technologies. 
● Build reusable code and libraries using iterative development practices for future use

● Ensuring high performance on mobile and desktop. 
● Implement monitoring, metric dashboards, runbooks, logging, escalations, and alerts.

● Drive code and design reviews of components / systems / products in scope and drive the architectural governance for them. 
● Implement best practices and constantly learn new ways of keeping code bases up to date 
 
Roles and Responsibilities:

● A solid grounding in Computer Science fundamentals (based on a Bachelor's or Master's in Computer Science or related field) from reputed institutes 
● 4+ years of development experience in modern web technologies (HTML/CSS, JavaScript), frameworks (React, Backbone.js, AngularJS, , etc) 
● Ability to build a feature from scratch & drive it to completion 
● Prior hands-on experience in building responsive web interfaces at scale for consumers in a product engineering setup 
● Thorough understanding of the responsibilities of the platform, database, API, caching layer, proxies, and other web services used in the system 
● Excellent problem solving, debugging and optimization skills 
● Strong knowledge of browser behavior, performance, compatibility and cross-browser issues 
● Good understanding of REST API 
● Familiar with front-end build tools, such as Webpack, Grunt and Gulp.js
● Proficient understanding of code versioning tools, such as Git 
● Open source contribution is a plus.

Your responsibilities: 

• You will be working together with fellow junior and senior Frontend developers, helping to improve the group's skill level and exchanging new ideas.
• On a daily basis, you write JavaScript/Typescript/ES6/Angular/React and HTML5, CSS3 (SASS/LESS/Stylus)
• Closely collaborate with designers and the rest of the technical team (Backend, DevOps, QA) to make sure we’re all aligned.
• You will manage projects with open-source JavaScript and TypeScript libraries and frameworks (we're big on React and Angular), and explore new technologies (GraphQL, AppSync, Apollo). 
• Code reviews are, of course, a part of your responsibilities as well as providing high-quality work.

What it takes to excel in this role 

• Strong core JavaScript and TypeScript
• 5+ years of JavaScript development experience
• Minimum of 2 years of experience with either, Angular 5+ or React
• Experience with Webpack/Grunt/Gulp or other automated build tools
• Experience with Jasmine/Jest or other JavaScript testing frameworks and tools• Strong Experience with HTML, CSS, SASS/LESS/Stylus
