Frontend Developer

What you’ll be doing

• Lead the development of our platform’s front end.
• Work with the product and design teams along with the founders to build new product features from start to finish: through conception, research, implementation, and maintenance.
• Work closely with founders and internal/external stakeholders to build products, tools, and services from scratch and deliver high-quality software solutions.
• You'll leverage your frontend knowledge to help improve performance and reliability, and polish existing features.
• Share your technical expertise to help the team make thoughtful and scalable design decisions and identify performance bottlenecks to troubleshoot quickly.
• Manage product development priorities, deadlines, and deliverables.
• Ensure high-performant and responsive web applications and websites.

Skills & Qualities we’re looking for

• Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Computer Science (or equivalent experience).
• 2-4 years of experience as a frontend developer (rare exceptions for highly skilled developers) at a fast-paced, preferably early / growth stage start-up.
• You're familiar with HTML, CSS, Javascript, and a React-like UI framework.
• Knowledge of codebases and version control systems (Git).
• You have experience debugging performance issues with UI in modern browsers across multiple platforms.
• Well-versed with SQL database design & RDBMS concepts.
• Strong arithmetic reasoning, logical and analytical thinking skills.
• Strong knowledge of code quality maintenance and performance analysis.

• Work with creative and business partners to understand, build, and adjust web application functionality and visual presentation to support business goals
• Develop reusable, maintainable, accessible cross-platform HTML, CSS, and JavaScript for front end web application components while adhering to web and team standards
• Working in an AT/CI/CD paradigm develops with testing in mind; authors unit tests to provide sufficient testing coverage for each developed component
• Identifies opportunities to optimize and improve front end performance
• Remain curious and current with new developments in front end web development industry

Qualifications

• 0-2 years of practical front-end web development experience in writing and testing valid, web standards-based HTML, CSS, JS
• Understanding of basics of computer science such as Object-Oriented Programming, Data Structures, Development Patterns
• Good experience in front end development with both technical and visual expertise
• Some exposure to agile methodologies and supporting practices, tools, and technology
• Comfortable learning new technologies, tools, development/CI/CD processes, and best practices
• Ability to collaborate effectively with teams across different locations
• Possess effective verbal communication, writing, and presentation skills
• Analytical thinker with attention to detail
• E-commerce experience is a plus
• Knowledge of WCAG 2.0 AA is a plus
• Experience with react framework a plus
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant experience

We are looking for a front end engineer with focus on UI/UX engineer with superb technical and aesthetic aptitude. The front end engineer will primarily be responsible for building and delivering custom solutions for our customers including the graphic design, experience design, and coding of the front ends. In this role, we expect you to gain an intimate understanding of your user and the value they’ll derive from the solution and develop user interfaces to deliver that value to the user in an ideal manner. The successful candidate will be curious, creative, ambitious, self motivated, flexible, and have a propensity for taking action.

Although your primary responsibilities will be around front-end work, we prize individuals who are willing to step in and contribute to other areas including automation, tooling, and management of applications.

As part of the early engineering team, you will have a chance to make a measurable impact in future of Thinkdeeply as well as having a significant amount of responsibility.

Skills

Required Skills:

• 5+ years in architecting and building Single Page Applications (SPA)
• Shipped at least 2+ applications using Angular/AngularJs
• Expertise in building Angularjs and Angular with integration and unit tests
• Experience in upgrading angular/js versions and converting angularjs -> angular.
• Good working knowledge of other frameworks such as REACT, nodejs, meteor etc.
• Experience with package management tools such as webpack for minification, uglification etc
• Experience with creating embeddable widgets
• Expertise with CSS frameworks such as Bootstrap4

Desired Skills:

• Demonstrated expertise of building cloud native applications
• Familiarity with administration of CI/CD such as jenkins
