Position Summary

We are a growing MEP consulting firm seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our remote team. You will be responsible for the design, analysis, and documentation of mechanical systems — primarily HVAC, plumbing, and piping — for commercial, industrial, and institutional projects across California, Nevada, and Washington.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop HVAC, plumbing, and mechanical systems for new construction and renovation projects
• Prepare construction documents, specifications, and engineering calculations
• Perform load calculations (heating, cooling, ventilation) in compliance with applicable codes
• Coordinate with electrical, structural, and architectural disciplines for integrated design solutions
• Review submittals, shop drawings, and RFIs from contractors
• Ensure designs comply with California Title 24, ASHRAE standards, IMC, UPC, and applicable state and local codes
• Participate in client meetings, project kickoffs, and design reviews
• Mentor junior staff and support project documentation

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
• 3+ years of experience in MEP consulting or building systems design
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit (MEP), and mechanical design software (e.g., Trane Trace, HAP, or equivalent)
• Solid understanding of HVAC systems, plumbing design, and energy codes
• Strong knowledge of California, Nevada building codes
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a remote environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with energy modeling and Title 24 compliance documentation
• LEED accreditation or other green building certifications
• Experience with advanced mechanical systems like VRF and DOAS
• Experience with Navisworks for BIM coordination
• Experience with construction administration
