Marbles Health
https://marbles.healthJobs at Marbles Health
Role Overview:
As Product Designer at Marbles Health, you'll own the end-to-end design of our product experience from early strategy and user research through to final UI execution. This is a high-ownership role for someone who wants to influence not just how the product looks, but how it works and why.
This isn't a role for someone whose first instinct is only "I can make this look pretty."
Before you read further, a few honest questions:
A user's health data flow feels confusing. What's your first move?
❌ "I'll flag it to the PM and wait for direction."
✅ "I'll sit with the clinical logic until I understand why it's built this way, then propose what should change."
You're designing a screen explaining a brain-health metric to a non-technical user. Where do you start?
❌ "I'll make it look clean and modern."
✅ "I'll figure out what the user is actually afraid of or confused about, then design for that first."
How do you use Claude or ChatGPT in your work?
❌ "I use it for inspiration and copy."
✅ "I use it to pressure-test flows, generate variants fast, and get from a rough idea to a testable prototype in hours, not days."
What does ownership look like to you?
❌ "I hand off the Figma file and move to the next ticket."
✅ "I stay close to it post-launch - funnel data, session recordings, A/B results - because shipping isn't the finish line."
If the "yeah!" answers sound like you, keep reading.
What You'll Do
- Lead UX strategy for key product areas - translating user needs, business goals, and clinical/health considerations into clear design direction.
- Design end-to-end user flows, wireframes, and high-fidelity UI for web and mobile experiences.
- Conduct and synthesize user research (interviews, usability testing, surveys) to validate design decisions.
- Build and maintain a scalable design system/component library in collaboration with engineering.
- Partner closely with Product Managers and Engineers from ideation through shipping — you're in the room for strategy, not just execution.
- Translate complex health information into simple, trustworthy, and accessible interfaces.
- Use data (funnel metrics, session recordings, A/B tests) to inform and iterate on designs post-launch.
- Present design rationale clearly to stakeholders, including non-design leadership.
What We're Looking For
- 2-5 years of experience as a Product Designer or UX/UI Designer, ideally in a consumer app, health tech, or fintech environment.
- A strong portfolio demonstrating both UX thinking (flows, research, problem-framing) and high-quality UI execution.
- Proficiency in Figma (or equivalent) and familiarity with prototyping tools.
- Experience designing for both web and mobile platforms.
- Comfort working with ambiguity - you can turn a loosely defined problem into a structured design process.
- Basic understanding of accessibility standards (WCAG), especially relevant in health products used by diverse populations.
- Strong communication skills, able to justify design decisions with reasoning, not just aesthetics.
- Bonus: prior experience in health tech, wellness, or a regulated/trust-sensitive consumer category.
Nice to Have
- Experience running or contributing to a formal design system.
- Familiarity with basic HTML/CSS (to collaborate more fluidly with engineering).
- Exposure to behavioral design principles (habit formation, nudges) relevant to health engagement.
- Motion design skills (micro-interactions, transitions, product animations).
- Experience creating print collaterals (brochures, packaging, in-clinic materials).
- An AI-forward mindset - curiosity about using AI tools in the design process and designing AI-native product experiences.
What Success Looks Like in the First 6 Months
- Ownership of at least one major product flow, redesigned or shipped based on user research.
- A functioning or improved design system adopted across the product.
- Established a lightweight, repeatable UX research process for the team.
If you want real ownership in health tech and are ready to dig into complexity most people avoid, we'd love to see your work.
To be considered, please also fill out this short form:
The role, in one line
You won't just cut what other people shoot. You'll come up with the idea, set up the shot, get people performing their best on camera (sometimes yourself), and have the edit live before the trend dies.
We need someone who is part editor, part director, part on-screen personality, and fully okay with saying "one more take, but this time with energy!"
Before you read further, a few honest questions:
A reel idea hits you at 4 pm. When does it go live?
❌ "I'll add it to next week's content calendar."
✅ "I'll grab a phone and a teammate, shoot it in 20 minutes, and have a draft out by 6."
Our doctor is stiff and robotic on camera. What do you do?
❌ "I'll fix it in the edit."
✅ "I'll crack a joke, change the setup, give them one simple direction, and roll again. The edit can't save a lifeless take."
Someone needs to be on camera, right now. Who goes?
❌ "Not me, I'm behind the scenes."
✅ "I'm already holding the mic."
How do you think about a shoot?
❌ "I'll edit whatever footage I'm sent."
✅ "I plan the hook, the shots and the B-roll before anyone presses record, because that's where a good edit starts."
If the ✅ answers sound like you, keep reading.
What you'll do
Create
- Pitch and produce reels and short-form videos for Instagram, YouTube Shorts and LinkedIn, often from just an idea
- Spot trends early and turn them into on-brand content quickly
- Appear on camera when the video needs a face, a voice or a bit of chaos
Direct
- Plan shoots: hooks, shot lists, framing, lighting and audio
- Direct doctors, patients, teammates and creators so they come across relaxed, confident and natural
- Coach people to deliver better: more energy, clearer lines, stronger takes
- Run testimonial and patient-story shoots with warmth and sensitivity, so people feel comfortable sharing real experiences
Edit
- Cut performance ads in several hooks, versions and formats for testing on Meta and Google
- Make product explainers that turn complex brain-health ideas into something anyone can follow
- Take campaign videos from rough cut to final delivery
- Add motion graphics, text animations, subtitles, transitions, music and sound design
- Colour-correct and balance audio so everything looks and sounds polished
- Adapt every video for 9:16, 1:1 and 16:9
Keep things running
- Work with the Design and Marketing teams on briefs, and act on feedback fast
- Keep an organised library of footage, templates and brand assets
- Handle patient content with proper consent and privacy care, every time
What we're looking for
- 0–2 years of video experience (freshers with a strong showreel are welcome)
- A showreel or portfolio, ideally including short-form content you shot and edited
- Comfort on camera, or at least a willingness to get comfortable fast
- Basic directing instincts: you know what makes a shot work and how to get a good performance out of someone
- Skills in Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, DaVinci Resolve or similar
- Basic After Effects or other motion graphics skills
- Speed: you can go from idea to finished video in hours, not days
- A quirky, spontaneous streak, and a good sense of pacing, storytelling and rhythm
- A feel for what makes people stop scrolling
- The ability to juggle several projects without dropping any
- Openness to feedback (you'll be giving plenty too)
Good to have
- Phone and camera shooting skills, plus basic lighting and audio recording
- Mobile editing with CapCut, InShot or similar
- Graphic design skills (Photoshop, Illustrator, Canva)
- Experience with performance or direct-response ads
- Theatre, improv, anchoring, hosting or content creation experience
- A background in healthcare, wellness or consumer brands
Why you'll love it here
- Your ideas go from your head to people's feeds within days
- You'll write, direct, shoot, edit, and sometimes star
- Your work will help real patients and doctors tell stories that matter
- A team that says "let's try it" more often than "let's schedule a meeting"
For bonus points, include a 30-second video introducing yourself. We'd love to see how you show up on camera.
