Mobile Automation Testing Engineer (Manual & Automation)

About the Role

We are looking for a highly skilled Mobile QA Engineer who can independently handle the complete testing lifecycle of our mobile applications. The ideal candidate should be proficient in both manual & automation testing, able to set up an end-to-end testing framework, and implement the best tools and techniques to ensure seamless app performance across different devices, OS versions, and network conditions.

🔹 Note: If working remotely, the candidate must have at least one iOS & one Android device for real-device testing. However, if willing to join the team in Mumbai, having one real device is sufficient.

Key Responsibilities

Manual Testing

Perform functional, regression, exploratory, UI/UX, and usability testing on Android & iOS apps.

Execute cross-browser, cross-device, and cross-network testing.

Identify, document, and track bugs using JIRA, Trello, or similar tools.

Conduct API testing using Postman, REST Assured, or similar tools.

Perform real-world network testing across Wi-Fi, 4G, 5G, VPN, firewalls, and offline modes.

Ensure compliance with accessibility & usability standards (WCAG guidelines).

Automation Testing

Develop and maintain automated test scripts using Appium, Espresso, XCUITest, or Detox.

Implement automation frameworks with TestNG, JUnit, Mocha, Jest, or Cucumber (BDD).

Integrate tests with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Bitrise, CircleCI).

Automate UI, API, and performance testing.

Optimize test coverage and reduce manual efforts with efficient automation strategies.

Performance, Security & Network Testing

Simulate and test app performance under real-world network conditions using Charles Proxy, Fiddler, and Network Link Conditioner.

Perform load & stress testing using JMeter, Locust, or Firebase Performance Monitoring.

Conduct security testing (SSL Pinning, OWASP Mobile Security, MITM Attacks) using Burp Suite, OWASP ZAP.

Monitor network requests, latency, and data consumption under different network conditions.

Test Strategy & Setup

Define and implement end-to-end test strategies, frameworks, and methodologies.

Select and integrate best-in-class testing tools for efficient workflows.

Ensure comprehensive test coverage across devices, platforms, and network types.

Continuously improve the testing lifecycle & processes.

Must-Have Skills

✅ Strong proficiency in manual & automation testing for mobile apps.

✅ Experience with Appium, Espresso, XCUITest, Detox for mobile automation.

✅ Proficiency in Python, Java, JavaScript, Swift, or Kotlin for scripting test cases.

✅ Hands-on experience with network simulation & throttling using Charles Proxy, Clumsy, Network Link Conditioner.

✅ Deep knowledge of performance, security, and API testing.

✅ Strong experience in CI/CD integration with Jenkins, Bitrise, GitHub Actions.

✅ Ability to work independently and take ownership of the entire QA process.

✅ Excellent debugging, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.

✅ Must own at least one iOS & one Android phone for real-device testing.

Good to Have

➕ Experience with Cloud Testing Platforms (BrowserStack, Sauce Labs, AWS Device Farm).
