JOB TITLE: Associate UIUX Designer

LOCATION: Hyderabad - Hybrid (2 days a week)

A LITTLE BIT ABOUT THE ROLE:

As our Associate UI/UX Designer, you will be filling the role of a behavioural scientist in a design environment. Your primary mission will be to understand our user and business needs, product requirements and transform that understanding into user-focused and intuitive products, interfaces, and platforms for mobile and web.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:

Following the full design process, from conducting user and market research to

conceptualizing and designing a product for the company.

• Highly analytical, creative, and consistently demonstrates high-quality design, writing, and presentation skills.
• Confident to justify design decisions based on a thorough understanding of user-centered design methodologies.
• Understanding & implementing research methodologies
• Assisting with the development of product design strategy.
• Determining customer goals and defining the product interactions necessary to achieve them.
• Compiling user, business, and technical requirements to create product information architecture.
• Creating wireframes and prototypes that illustrate key product interactions.
• Working with the core design team to develop layout and visuals.
• Collaborating with the product development team to ensure an efficient customer journey.
• Conducting product testing to identify problems and areas for improvement within the customer experience.
• Staying up to date with industry trends and best practices..

WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO BE GREAT IN THIS ROLE:

• 2-3 years of work experience in UX or interaction design
• Strong work portfolio that demonstrates systematic and creative design thinking as well as a deep understanding of UI/UX best practices.
• Proven well-designed examples of responsive grid-based layouts
• Good communication skills and a team player.
• Ability to manage time wisely across projects and competing priorities, meet agreed-upon deadlines, and be accountable for work.
• Proficiency in Information architecture, wireframing, and design thinking, applied knowledge of visual design, typography, color, layout, and information hierarchy.
• Experience in working with a cross-functional team or large-scale software development lifecycle, including waterfall and agile methodologies.

What you’ll do :

As a design leader, you will be working with Product managers, Experience managers and Engineering teams to define strategies and lead the creation of great unparalleled customer experiences

You will be owning & driving the quality of Customer and Business-facing interfaces designed across customer journeys

You will be designing how designers design. Dream, explore, create, and nurture other designers’ skills and processes, identifying areas for improvement through collaborating across functions at company

Involve yourself in increasing the effectiveness of the entire team by helping to define and adapt design processes that elevate the productivity and well-being of the Interaction Design Team

Manage communication and documentation within the interaction design team, partner with other functions, external contacts, and contribute to a company-wide understanding of the role of design

Introduce new ideas, new processes, and new tools to best support an efficient process, creative work, and consistently high-quality execution

Facilitate project scheduling, establish deadlines, ensure the team is aware of key milestones, lead team meetings, and coordinate creative/design reviews throughout the entire product lifecycle

Here’s what we are looking for:

6-9 years in Interaction Design, with an emphasis on digital product design

Experienced in managing design team and comes with a deep understanding of design methodology and the creative process

Experienced in collaboration and building relationships - interfacing with Research, Product, Marketing, and Engineering teams

Experienced in scoping, managing, and facilitating design sprints and workshops with large interdisciplinary teams

Must be driven by outcomes and committed to continuous learning

Experience in working with rapid-growth companies or startups is an added advantage

What you'll bring :

Degree in design from Tier 1 Design schools would be preferred but is not a mandate

About Savvology - There is a lot of luck involved in most of the mainstream real-money games (Poker, Fantasy, Ludo, Rummy) which makes it hard to win anything. We want to create pure skill-based strategy games (no luck factor), where you can control your outcome better. What’s more, more than 50% of the players win something! We make use of Game Theory (the science of decision making) to come up with games that are so simple that even a 5 year old can play. Our vision is to encourage people to take better decisions through gamification.

Job Brief

We are looking for a UI/UX Designer to conceptualize and create engaging visuals across a variety of media. You’ll be working closely with a team of IITian founders, marketers, and developers to design the best-looking mobile games on the planet. You have to ensure that all aspects of the user experience are optimized for improved usability, usefulness, and exceptional visual design.

As a UI/UX Designer, you’ll own the entire design stack - UI/UX, app design, website design, branding, marketing collateral. Your graphics should capture the brand voice and communicate the message clearly to our target audience. For this, you are expected to conduct thorough user research and understand the gamer persona.

We’re a young, passionate team looking to make a dent in the gaming space. We work hard, but we party harder (beer/pizza every Friday night). If you love challenges and are up for building exciting products from scratch, we’d like to meet you.

Responsibilities

• Develop UI mockups, animations, flow diagrams, storyboards, sitemaps, and prototypes that clearly illustrate how new app features / new website pages function and look like
• Liaise with the Product team to understand user needs, psychology & product USPs and use it to design smooth in-app user experiences
• Work with the Marketing team to design and maintain an intuitive, well-converting & visually stunning website
• Design a comprehensive brand identity kit - logo, letterhead, visiting cards, envelope, merchandise, etc
• Work on user acquisition by designing compelling ads, social media/print graphics
• Adhering to style standards on typography and graphic design
• Have an iterative mindset. No design is perfect on the first attempt. Design mechanisms to collect user feedback and continuously improve on your designs.
• Conduct user interviews and online research to define and understand our target user
• Study the gaming domain vis-a-vis competitors, market trends, and best practices
• Participate and contribute in business and product discussions
• Be opinionated and back those opinions with strong logic

Skills

• 2+ years proven experience in UI/UX design or allied roles
• A strong portfolio of illustrations or other graphics for both web and mobile platforms (MUST)
• Familiarity with design software and technologies (such as Illustrator, Photoshop, XD, After Effects, Premiere Pro, Figma etc) (MUST)
• Proficiency in video editing and creating product explainers and other types of video 
• Working knowledge of wireframing and prototyping tools (Balsamiq, Invision, Webflow etc)
• Excellent UX copywriting and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work methodically and meet deadlines
• A team player but can work independently and takes initiative
• Degree/Diploma from reputed design schools is a plus but NOT mandatory
• Brownie points if you’ve designed/worked on a mobile game before
