Job description

What will I be working on ? Ather is building a product from scratch, and that involves a wide gamut of suppliers and a intricate integration for production. Your role is a crucial interface with the purchasing and engineering functions within Ather to ensure that we source and develop a supply chain of mechanical/electrical components for our world class vehicles. A technical liason between engineering, purchasing, manufacturing, and our suppliers, you will work with suppliers to resolve supplier quality issues, implement and monitor advanced quality planning, and provide technical support focused on meeting program launch and production requirements. We rely on you to assess risk in production line processes, and provide oversight on testing and quality processes to ensure all products are delivered meeting stated technical and delivery requirements. What kind of experience & skills do I need for this role? You’ve already spent 5-10 years working in quality, engineering, or manufacturing-related field. Words like probability, statistical quality control, and design of experiments and technology like radar, infrared, visual spectrum sensors, processing equipment are your comfort zone. Your work has trained you to bring automotive suppliers into volume production capability and you are proficient in supplier development from concept to production. As an individual, you have an ability to investigate quality problems and apply technical judgement to develop possible solutions. What should I have graduated in? About the company

Ather is hardware start-up based out of Bangalore, building India’s first smart electric scooter, the Ather S340. Designed in-house and built ground-up, the S340 is a high performance electric scooter powered by a lithium-ion battery pack, has a touchscreen dashboard and a host of smart features.

Ather is backed by Flipkart founders Sachin & Binny Bansal, Tiger Global and recently raised a Series B funding of Rs. 205 Cr from Hero MotoCorp.

Multiple prototypes of the S340 are currently being tested across various parameters and should be hitting manufacturing next year. The overall strength of the company is 150 comprising majorly engineers. Ather hires all through the year for various positions across the company.
