JOB DESCRIPTION: QA Engineer (Hybrid Mobile Application)

Role Description

As a Senior QA Engineer, you will develop and execute exploratory manual and
automated tests to ensure product quality on both iOS and Android devices. You will
read, review, run test cases and capture screenshots of successful or unsuccessful
test activities for in-house mobile applications, web applications and operations
systems enhancements. You get to work with some of the best minds in the industry

• Analysing and evaluating functional and technical requirements to determine
the scope of the functionality to be covered by testing.
• Responsible for designing and executing tests, reporting and tracking defects,
responding to inquiries, supporting UAT and other tasks pertaining to the QA
team.
• Analyse test results, leverage troubleshooting skills to assist with defining root
cause, and perform re-testing after defects are addressed.
Responsibilities

Your responsibilities are as follows.

• Review requirements, specifications and technical design documents to
provide timely and meaningful feedback
• Create detailed, comprehensive and well-structured test plans and test cases
• Estimate, prioritize, plan and coordinate testing activities
• Design, develop and execute automation scripts using open-source tools
• Identify, record, document thoroughly and track bugs
• Perform thorough regression testing when bugs are resolved
• Develop and apply testing processes for new and existing products to meet
client needs
• Liaise with internal teams (For e.g. developers, project and product managers)
to identify system requirements
• Monitor debugging process results
• Investigate the causes of non-conforming software and train users to
implement solutions
• Track quality assurance metrics, like defect densities and open defect counts
• Stay up-to-date with new testing tools and test strategies
Required Qualifications

• Minimum 5 Years of experience in a Mobile Application Testing Space (Hybrid
is preferred)
• Proven work experience in software development
• Proven work experience in software quality assurance
• Strong knowledge of software QA methodologies, tools and processes
• Experience in writing clear, concise and comprehensive test plans and test
cases
• Hands-on experience with both white box and black box testing
• Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development process
• Bachelor/Masters of CS/IT Engineering, BCA/MCA, B Sc/M Sc in CS/IT

Preferred Qualifications

• Developing automation test scripts for mobile application
• Ability to understand financial and operational modules, business processes,
and underlying table structures
• Familiarity with online banking applications: Web or mobile platform based
• Experience with performance and/or security testing is a plus
• Knowledge of bug tracking software, preferably JIRA is a plus
• Knowledge of automation testing using Selenium is a plus
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Solid understanding of QA methodology and practices, within SDLC

You will be part of the Technology team ,and will be responsible for the
end-to-end quality assurance including:
- Execute and improve QA processes via Test automation tools as well as manual
testing
- Reproduce software system errors and file processing issues
- Support Agile / Scrum software development life cycle and project management
approach by creating, documenting, and executing test plans
- Write SQL queries and utilizing SQL Server Management Studio for various
testing scenarios
- Automate the entire testing along with Selenium
- Plan and collaborate with the other teams including back-end engineers, product
team, etc. to ensure quality implementation of new product features, growth hacks/
initiatives identified through user interviews/ insights, etc in atimely manner.
- Build processes/mechanisms to track the KPIs across testing and ensure religious
execution of the targets

We are looking to onboard a Quality Assurance Software Engineer, who has a
founder'smindset including the following traits:

- Must be well versed with databases

- Should be well versed in understanding business specifications and deriving
and identifying test cases and test scenarios

- Should be well versed with various testing stages / levels / phases, testing
types and testing techniques

- Experience of testing across web & mobile based technologies and should have
scaled a business

- Ability to provide quality assurance across scalable products/ platforms, fully
redundant fault-tolerant infrastructure while working on modern technologies.

- Stronghold in testing across the stack including front-end testing (Selenium), backend APIs testing, load testing (Apache Jmeter), behaviour testing (Cucumber), etc

- Excellent communication skills, strong analytical skills, high energy, self-starter
personality

- Stronghold in executing stuff on the ground and hustle around to “Get things done”

- Ability to think and see the big picture while focusing on short term goals and
deliverables

- Experience as a founder/ being part of founding team is huge plus but not
mandatory

- Experience in the Fashion/ Apparel industry is a plus but not mandatory

• Understanding of the application functionality along with defined program objectives.
• Organize the testing kick-off meeting.
• Define the Strategy.
• Develop the test plan for the tasks, dependencies, and participants required to mitigate the risks to system quality and obtain stakeholder support for this plan.
• Identify the test environment, test data, and access needs.
• Analyze test results and call out any discrepancies against the SLAs.
• Publish test analysis reports and conduct review sessions with all the stakeholders.
• Review and provide feedback on all the developed test cases.
• Lead all test reviews and test artifacts.
• Act as the single point of contact between Development and Testers.

• Responsible for the automation testing, test planning, and test script, in accordance to the customers’ requirements and organizational quality norms.
• Activities to be performed include:
  • Requirement analysis and design of software solutions based on requirements and architectural /design guidelines.
  • Testing of features and/or bug-fixing and delivering solutions in accordance with coding guidelines and on time with high quality.
  • Identification and implementation of unit and integration tests to ensure solution address customer requirements, and quality, security requirements of the product are met.
  • Performing code review and creation / support for relevant documentation (requirement/design/test specification).
  • Ensuring integration and submission of solution into software configuration management system, within committed delivery timelines.

 

Requirements

• 3 - 5 years experience in Manual and Automation Testing especially in professional software product development.
• Proficient in one or more of the following technologies: RESTful APIs, Selenium Web driver Automation with .NET, Java, or other object-oriented languages like NodeJS, Cypress, etc.
• Experience with all phases of software testing including test planning, functional testing, and regression testing.
• Experience in Test Planning, Scripting, and Execution
• Experience in Cloud Technology(Azure) is a plus
• Good knowledge of cross-platform rendering issues between major browsers.
• Must have good analytical, debugging ad tracing skills.
