Backend Engineer

Key Responsibilities:

• Rewrite existing APIs in NodeJS.
• Remodel the APIs into Micro services-based architecture.
• Implement a caching layer wherever possible.
• Optimize the API for high performance and scalability.
• Write unit tests for API Testing.
• Automate the code testing and deployment process.

Skills Required:

1. At least 2 years of experience developing Backends using NodeJS — should be well versed with its asynchronous nature & event loop, and know its quirks and workarounds.
2. Excellent hands-on experience using MySQL or any other SQL Database.
3. Good knowledge of MongoDB or any other NoSQL Database.
4. Good knowledge of Redis, its data types, and their use cases.
5. Experience with graph-based databases like GraphQL and Neo4j.
6. Experience developing and deploying REST APIs.
7. Good knowledge of Unit Testing and available Test Frameworks.
8. Good understanding of advanced JS libraries and frameworks.
9. Experience with Web sockets, Service Workers, and Web Push Notifications.
10. Familiar with NodeJS profiling tools.
11. Proficient understanding of code versioning tools such as Git.
12. Good knowledge of creating and maintaining DevOps infrastructure on cloud platforms.
13. Should be a fast learner and a go-getter — without any fear of trying out new things Preferences.

Role:

As an backend engineer at Biofourmis, you are engaged right from the product ideation conversation where you analyse requirements, explore the feasibility to implement it to make it a full-blown product. You ideate, identify the solution, build and suggest the right architecture, engage the right partner, demonstrate the idea, present the solution to multiple stakeholders, execute a proof of concept, and finally oversee it all while the dream gets implemented.

 

 

People and Technology:

There would be direct interactions between the internal product and engineering teams. The engineering team is comprised of UI/UX, Mobile - iOS, Android, Backend - NodeJS, Python, Web - Angular, HTML/CSS, QA, and DevOps team.

Responsibilities:

1. You will be a part of the core development team at Biofourmis to work on engaging and challenging products in healthcare/digital therapeutics domain
2. You will be constantly developing new features, improve existing features of our new and existing products.
3. You will be working closely with the product team, backend team, android team, web team and QA team to shape the product
4. You will be responsible for mentoring and guiding juniors, who will help you build the product along the way
5. You will be working in backend of our AI-powered solution developed in Python
6. Design, implement and extend core platform services and APIs to enable new products and features to be built
7. Provide technical contributions to the core team that powers our backend services for millions of concurrent users
8. Build and own the core systems that form the architecture of our backend services from API gateways, service observability, and inter-service communications to higher-level business components like identity, therapeutic engine, and analytics systems just to name a few
9. Drive the qualitative aspects of the backend services like performance, scalability, observability, reliability, and security and so on.

 

 

Skills:

1. Good communication and interpersonal skills
2. Knowledge expected in Cloud Computing, threading, performance tuning, and security.
3. Experienced in Serverless and Microservice application development on AWS or Azure
4. Any Big data processing technology experience like setting data pipelines, batch/real-time processing.
5. Any Container orchestration technology like Docker, Kubernetes or serverless frameworks
6. Good at SQL/NoSQL database technology.
7. Good at python and related signal processing packages, scipy, NumPy. etc.
8. Experience in developing serverless applications in Azure, AWS (Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB) will be preferred
9. Knowing Matlab or R, (or) other scripting language is a plus.
10. Ability to work independently to solve complex problems with large, real-world datasets.
11. Willing to learn and passionate about new technology.
12. Follow the good practice of software development process and tool kit, i.e. TDD, CI, documentation, etc.
13. Good understanding of Git and related workflows for daily development activities

The platform that will drive payments at slash will be the social profiles and payment pages for the merchants. You will be responsible for building the social platform on which merchants can build their profiles, list items for sale, the APIs that power the entire UI experience for Slash.
