What are you using to collect online payment internationally?

We use RazoryPay but it has some issues (no support for recurring billing, no support for corporate debit cards, etc.). Their support can be a tad slow at times too. We want ONE solution that works both domestically and internationally. Stripe looks great but seems it is yet not available to companies incorporated in India.

what are some affordable cloud service / server hosting available in India for building apps for BOP solutions ?

Hi Folks,The main obstacle I'm facing is I can't recommend Firebase like service with cutting edge REST API/ MBaaS forBottom of the pyramid Business or any product I want to build for semi-urban untouched software market areas.Any Cloud hosting anything I googled have minimum 25$ per month for basic plan! 25$ per month itself costly for building BOP solutions!! Great to know that Artoo.in like startups build the apps with cloud technologies with a very good business model ! (Currect me any thing I'm wrong! wannaprenuer's thoughts ;)  )

I have personally not used it but Hostinger has a good name and affordable pricing.Although i dont know the specifics of your project but i would not recommend using low tech for a BOP solution. Because the lower you go of the pyramid the width/scale increases. As well the BOP people are more likely to refer/demo to other people which means you might have to scale it up pretty fast. And a cheap service is less likely to be robust/scalable.

Is it wise for Snapdeal founders to sell FreeCharge and Vulcan Express ?

We know Snapdeal is having a tough time raising another round and it is also having markdowns by its leading investors. In such adverse conditions what could be the outcomes of selling or not selling and what would you do in such a condition?Source: http://www.financialexpress.com/industry/after-paypal-deal-falls-through-snapdeal-looks-to-sell-freecharge-to-paytm-payu-for-500-mn/551674/

The quoted article is a bit ambiguous. It seems to suggest that Snapdeal is not looking to sell Freecharge completely, but just wants to divest a smaller 25% stake for an estimated deal valuation of $500mn. This means it is valuing Freecharge at $2B, which sounds weird since Snapdeal itselft is trying to raise money at $3B to $4B valuation: http://techcircle.vccircle.com/2017/01/25/snapdeal-in-talks-with-softbank-to-raise-funds-at-lower-valuation/. Something doesn't add up in this article. That said, keeping Freecharge would have been a smarter decision for Snapdeal. Given the uptick in the digital payments space it could definitely be a great hedge against dwindling fortunes in the ecomm space. But then I think for Snapdeal,  it no longer is about what's smart and what's not. It's about survival right now and they will do whatever it takes to stay afloat - layoffs, stake sales, down rounds, etc. And they gotta do it fast - clock is already turning fast for them in my view.

Your idea is worth $0 right now. I get 10 ideas everyday, and nobody is giving me any money for those.Ideas have no values, anyone can get ideas. The values are for execution. Investors trust your team, not your ideas. Because the skills of your team can execute an idea properly. A bad idea if executed well, is much better than a good idea executed poorly. So what can you do now?Create a MVP (Minimum Viability Product) of your idea and get at least 10 paying customers for that. If you can do this much, then you won't have any issue with investment at all. You may ask that you need money for the MVP too. Then do a job and save money for your MVP. You can take a loan from your friends, family or even bank. Raising investment is not that easy. Investors are not stupid.

What are the pros and cons of incorporating your startup in the US?

Many people are now advising new startup founders to incorporate in the US. It's pretty affordable (Stripe Atlas does the entire setup at $500) and fast.  Would love to know the experience of people who have done this. Are these pros and cons really true? Pros:Better chances of raising money from US investorsAcccess to more products that don't operate in India (such as Stripe)More credibility (We're HQ'ed in US!)Anything else?Cons:Higher cost of corporate and financial complianceLegal costs and risk of getting sued easliyIndian taxation and labor law complianceAnything else?

Incorporating in the US would protect the VCs, not you, as they would be able to sue you in the US. Your organization would have to follow American labor laws, legal compliance and the US GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Practices). If you are sure that incorporating in the US is a good idea, it would probably be a good idea to incorporate in India for whatever needs you may have here. For example, with our firm, iPlace USA is an American company incorporated in Delaware (best state to incorporate in) and is primarily the sales engine for our Indian company, iPlace India, which focuses on delivery of services. Every thing else is done here and follows Indian labor laws, legal compliance and Indian GAAP, supported by the US company. NOTE: There are some intricacies to this relationship. The government of India sees the US firm as our customer and we can only earn money in the US at our Indian company. You should seek the advice of an experienced chartered accountant for more information on how to incorporate because the way it it set up has tremendous tax implications if done incorrectly. Many American companies have a venture capital presence in India. Intel Capital, Google and many other companies and VCs have been evaluating the opportunities here in India and have made significant investments over the past ten years I've been here. 500 Startups is a good place to start. Pankaj Jain runs the program I think. Connect with him on Linkedin. He may be of some help. Good luck!

How can an India based startup raise funds from Valley based investors?

Where to find foreign investors who are open to funding India based startups? I belive sites like Angel.co can't help due to legal issues. How far does incorporating the company in the USA help?
